Scoring tear continues Sears chipped in 31 points (10-13 FG, 6-8 3Pt, 5-5 FT), six rebounds, three assists and three steals in 36 minutes during Tuesday's 74-47 victory over South Carolina.

Impact The majority of Sears' fantasy value comes from his scoring capability, but he's now chipped in a trio of both assists and steals in back-to-back games. Tuesday was also his second-best three-point shooting day of the season, as well as his second-highest rebounding total. It was a major boom for anyone who deployed Sears in rotisserie or daily formats, and Sears is quickly becoming one of the top fantasy assets in the SEC.

Promising beginning to season Sears logged 13 points (3-5 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 6-7 FT), five rebounds, five assists and two steals across his 24 minutes during Alabama's 105-73 win Monday against Morehead State.

Impact Sears averaged 12.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.2 steals as part of Alabama's 2022-23 team. He was one of its four players to be a starter more than 35 times. Fast forward to Alabama's 2023-24 season, Sears is the only one remaining. While expectations from him are high, he has successfully adjusted to them across a season once before.

Impact Sears has been dealing with a nagging groin injury throughout preseason. While Alabama could just be playing it cautious with the senior guard, his availability for the team's season opener against Morehead State on Nov. 6 is now in question. Impact This update falls right in line with a report from a few days earlier that Sears would be questionable for the official exhibition opener against Wake Forest on Oct. 29 due to a groin injury suffered during the preseason. As Alabama's returning leading scorer (12.5 ppg), Sears expects to again start and serve a key role in the offense, but it remains to be seen if the team will take a conservative approach with his reintroduction to basketball action given a relatively light early non-conference schedule.

Impact Sears suffered a groin injury sometime during preseason. He will sit out the Crimson Tide's upcoming weekend scrimmage against TCU but is not ruled out for their only exhibition game before they begin playing regular-season games. Ideally for the Tide, Sears can be tested at least once before hosting Morehead State on Nov. 6.
