Outstanding in round of 32 Nowell ended with 27 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt, 10-11 FT), two rebounds, nine assists and three steals across 40 minutes during Sunday's 75-69 win over Kentucky. Impact Nowell logged his second straight star performance to begin the Wildcats' run in the NCAA Tournament. The 5-foot-8 point guard was not deterred by Kentucky's tall lineup, as he actually took more three-pointers than his season average (6.8) leading into Sunday's contest. He also continued his marvelous passing and floor general role for Kansas State. While it's unlikely he'll replicate his ability to get to the line in bunches, Nowell will likely need to play with a similar fearlessness to secure a win in the Sweet 16 against a tough, defensive-minded Michigan State crew.
