Impact Lykes was believed to be a candidate to retake the floor recently, but it appears the senior's ankle issue is serious enough that he may be forced to miss all but the first two games of the 2020-21 campaign. He was off to a hot start once again prior to the injury and figures to play a vital role again next season, assuming he elects to return.

Impact Wong struggled from the field in this one, but that didn't stop him from scoring in double digits for the eighth game in a row. He's averaging 18.6 points per game -- despite shooting just 41 percent from the field -- in that eight-game span.

Done for season Miami head coach Jim Larranaga said Monday that Timberlake (shoulder) will be shut down for the remainder of the season, Josh White of WVUM 90.5 Coral Gables reports.

Impact Timberlake hadn't played since Jan. 19 due to the left shoulder injury, missing six consecutive contests. The freshman apparently wasn't making much meaningful progress in his recovery, prompting the Hurricanes to rule him out for the remainder of the campaign. Before getting hurt, Timberlake had established himself as a key rotation piece for the Hurricanes, averaging 9.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.7 steals in 27.0 minutes per game over seven appearances.

Impact Head coach Jim Larranaga mentioned Friday that Lykes had a chance to return for Sunday's game, but he'll continue to be sidelined after he reportedly tweaked his ankle injury in practice. The 5-7 senior hasn't played since Dec. 4 as he'll look to have a better week of practice with the hopes of finally returning for a meeting with Georgia Tech on Jan. 20.

Not starting Sunday Walker is not in the starting lineup for Sunday's game against Notre Dame.

Impact Walker has started in the last six times he's been available but will head to the bench Sunday in favor of Harlond Beverly. The 6-9 sophomore struggled from the floor last weekend against Virginia Tech and failed to score double-digit points for the first time in five games. His poor shooting performance may have played a factor in his move to the bench but he'll still have a sizeable role as he's averaged 23.4 minutes per game this season.

Impact Beverly came off the bench in the Hurricanes' last game and played a season-low 16 minutes but will re-enter the starting five for Sunday's meeting with Notre Dame. The 6-5 sophomore had his worst game of the season against the Irish on Jan. 24 when he failed to score for the first time all year and will look to turn it around upon his return to the lineup.

Could return Sunday Coach Jim Larranaga indicated Friday that he hopes to get Lykes (ankle) back soon and that he could return Sunday against Notre Dame, Christopher Stock of 247Sports reports.

Impact Lykes hasn't taken the floor since Dec. 4 but appears to be on the cusp of a return to action. The sooner he's cleared to retake the floor, the better off the senior will be in terms of getting in game shape ahead of the conference tournament. Lykes was a key piece in the first two games of the season, posting 15.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 boards per game, and he should resume starting point guard duties when he's back to 100 percent.

Impact Lykes hasn't seen action since the second game of the year, so the senior's return for the Hurricanes could provide a big boost to the team's backcourt down the stretch. Given the length of his absence, there's a good chance he would see a limited role off the bench to start, but he figures to be in line for a starting role again in the future after turning in 15.5 points, 5.5 assists and 4.0 rebounds over 28.5 minutes per game in his two appearances this season.
