Max Brown - Not listed on depth chart Brown (undisclosed) is not listed on Charlotte's official team depth chart ahead of Saturday's matchup against Rice.

Impact Brown previously missed each of the team's last two games against Gardner-Webb and Indiana, respectively, and appears to be heading for another absence against Rice. The redshirt sophomore suffered an undisclosed injury against North Carolina that was described as "serious" by coaches. Impact UNC Charlotte's website confirmed Kellman is injured, which indicates why he sat out when the 49ers played at Indiana on Saturday. Next, they have a Rice visit scheduled for Sept. 28.

Cartevious Norton - Leads rushing attack Saturday Norton compiled 11 rushes for 58 yards during Saturday's 52-14 loss against Indiana.

Impact Norton received the most carries on the team Saturday and was much more productive than Hahsaun Wilson who rushed eight times for 20 yards. Norton has received 10 touches in three of four games this season, but the production simply just hasn't been there. Although he looked good on Saturday, he will need to prove it again this Saturday at Rice to be trusted for the remainder of the season.

Trexler Ivey - Ineffective in start Ivey was 14-for-23 passing for 119 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 52-14 defeat versus Indiana.

Impact Ivey started Saturday's game with both Max Brown (undisclosed) and Deshawn Purdie (leg) out with injuries. Ivey did not play particularly well as he averaged just 5.2 yards per attempt and threw one touchdown. However, it was a difficult matchup and he lacks chemistry with much of the offense, so all things considered it's hard to blame him for his lack of production. If both Brown and Purdie are out again this Saturday at Rice, Ivey will draw another start.

Impact Brown missed Week 3 against Gardner-Webb, and it appears whatever ailment the quarterback has will keep him out at least one more game. He's had an uneven start to the season, throwing for 368 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions while completing 52 percent of his passes. This leaves Trexler Ivey as the 49ers' starting quarterback.

With Max Brown (undisclosed) week-to-week, the 49ers will go a safe route and have their third-string quarterback Trexler Ivey start Saturday.

Impact Brown scored a 28-yard touchdown with five minutes left in Saturday's game, a touchdown that tied the game at 20-20. He was one of three 49ers to receive five targets and go for over 60 yards, and the other two were both tight ends. He's now had two solid performances out of three games this season, but the massive questions about his quarterback play significantly limits his upside.

Hahsaun Wilson - Scores in Saturday's comeback win Wilson recorded six carries for 52 yards and one touchdown and reeled in all two targets for 33 yards during Saturday's 27-26 win against Gardner-Webb.

Impact Wilson received six carries, the second most among 49ers' running backs Saturday, and was by far more productive than Cartevious Norton. He averaged 8.7 yards per rush and scores the game-winning 39-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. He also gained 33 yards through the air on two catches. He has easily been the 49ers' most efficient running back this season and could continue to see more work as the season progresses.
