Cartevious Norton - Struggles in Saturday's loss Norton logged 10 carries for 11 yards during Saturday's 30-7 defeat against James Madison.

Impact Norton rushed for just 1.1 yards per carry Saturday, a brutal way to start his 49ers career after transferring from Iowa State. It was especially rough for him given Terron Kellman (nine carries for 76 yards) and Hahsaun Wilson (five carries for 35 yards) looked much better. Even though he started in Saturday's loss, he may have lost out on that job after a rough season opener.

Terron Kellman - Leads backfield Saturday Kellman notched nine rushes for 76 yards and reeled in their only target for eight yards during Saturday's 30-7 defeat versus James Madison.

Impact Although Kellman did not receive the start -- Cartevious Norton did -- he was far and away the most productive 49ers' running back. He rushed for over eight yards a carry compared to Norton's 1.1. While nothing is set in stone, after the pair of running backs' performance on Saturday, it would not be surprising to see Kellman lead the backfield Saturday at UNC.

Max Brown - Rough start to season Brown completed 22 of 45 passes for 193 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions during Saturday's 30-7 loss to James Madison. He also had six rushes for 12 yards and a lost fumb...

Impact Brown completed fewer than 50 percent of his passes for fewer than 200 yards and turned the ball over three times. It was a rough outing for him in his first game since transferring over from Florida, but it is more of the same for Charlotte quarterbacks. He faces a more difficult matchup Saturday at UNC.
