Brock Spalding - Suffers knee injury Spalding suffered a knee injury during East Carolina's 45-28 loss Saturday at the United States Military Academy, 247Sports reports.

Impact Spalding's punt return resulted in one of his knees suffering damage as he caught the kicked football. Currently, East Carolina's next game is scheduled for Oct. 26 against Temple.

Chase Sowell - Excellent in Saturday's loss Sowell compiled seven receptions (on 10 targets) for 138 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-28 defeat versus Army.

Impact Sowell broke out Saturday with Katin Houser making his first start of the season. Sowell recorded season highs across the board, recording his first 100-yard game and scoring his first touchdown of the season, a 53-yard reception in the third quarter. If Houser continues to start for the Pirates, Sowell's value looks like it will go up significantly.

Anthony Smith - Scores in Saturday's loss Smith reeled in all three targets for 27 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-28 defeat versus Army.

Impact Smith scored his third touchdown of the season Saturday, an 11-yard reception from Katin Houser in the 4th quarter. He saw just three targets in the game, a slightly concerning sign given how much the Pirates threw the ball versus Army. After receiving at least six targets in each of the first four games of the season, he has just 11 total in the last three games combined.

Winston Wright Jr. - Scores again Saturday Wright logged four receptions (on 10 targets) for 57 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 45-28 loss against Army.

Impact Wright scored his fourth touchdown of the season Saturday, all of which have come in his last five games. It was a 12-yard reception late in the fourth quarter that salvaged a productive performance for him. He saw a season-high 10 targets with Katin Houser under center, potentially a sign of things to come if the Pirates continue to start Houser.

Rahjai Harris - Another quiet outing Harris tallied nine rushes for 34 yards and reeled in all four targets for 24 yards during Saturday's 45-28 defeat versus Army.

Impact Harris was held out of the end zone for the third straight game Saturday and was held under 60 total yards for the second consecutive outing. He did set season highs in receptions, targets and receiving yards, but his lack of work on the ground -- due to Army taking a big lead early -- hurt his performance. He faces a very favorable matchup versus Temple next.

Katin Houser - Productive in first start Houser was 24-for-38 passing for 282 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 45-28 loss against Army. He also had four rushes for 13 yards with one touchdown...

Impact Houser received his first start of the season Saturday and performed well despite the difficult matchup. He accounted for four touchdowns, completed over 63 percent of his passes and turned the ball over once. There's a decent chance Houser's performance will keep him as the starter Saturday versus Temple which is a very favorable matchup.

Impact Garcia was benched during the Pirates' Week 6 loss at Charlotte and that decision has spilled over into Week 8 with Katie Houser making his first start of the season. Garcia has been very loose with the ball this season as he has thrown an interception in every game, totaling 12 through six starts.

Impact Sowell recorded a season-high 82 yards Saturday, and he did that in spite of having two different quarterbacks throwing him the ball. He received eight targets for the third time this season and caught four passes for the fourth straight game. While his yardage has been solid, especially during the last three weeks, his lack of touchdowns is hurting his upside significantly.

Winston Wright Jr. - Scores kick return TD Saturday Wright hauled in 4 of 5 targets for 17 yards, rushed three times for 28 yards and returned a kickoff for a touchdown during Saturday's 55-24 defeat to Charlotte.

Impact Wright scored a 94-yard kickoff return touchdown Saturday, his first return touchdown of the season and his third total. He also had a decent day on offense as he set season highs in rushing attempts and yards and caught four passes for the third time this season. The Pirates are clearly looking for ways to get Wright the ball, and he has shown an ability to break off big plays this season.

Tyler Savage - Scores TD Saturday Savage notched four receptions (on five targets) for 39 yards and one touchdown during Saturday's 55-24 loss against Charlotte.

Impact Savage scored his first touchdown of the season Saturday, a 13-yard reception from Jake Garcia in the second quarter. He also set season highs in receptions and targets and recorded his second most yards this season with 39. Savage has been more involved than his tight end counterparts in the past few games, and if that continues he could be a solid option during the second half of the season.

London Montgomery - Scores long TD Saturday Montgomery totaled three carries for 56 yards and one touchdown and reeled in their only target for six yards during Saturday's 55-24 defeat to Charlotte.

Impact Montgomery scored a 48-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter Saturday, the first touchdown of his collegiate career. It was one of only three carries he had in the game as Rahjai Harris once again took the majority of the work. With Harris' stranglehold on touches in the Pirates' backfield, it will be difficult for Montgomery to maintain any significant production this season.

Rahjai Harris - Quiet in blowout loss Harris totaled 12 carries for 48 yards during Saturday's 55-24 loss against Charlotte.

Impact Harris once again led the team in rushing attempts, but he was out-gained by London Montgomery who scored a 48-yard touchdown. It was a disappointing day for Harris as he also failed to add anything in the receiving game. After a bye week in Week 7 he faces a tough matchup at Army.
