CJ Campbell Jr. - Another productive outing Campbell logged 18 rushes for 89 yards and one touchdown and caught all six targets for 74 yards during Saturday's 41-37 loss against North Texas.

Impact Campbell had another excellent day Saturday, highlighted by his 12-yard rushing touchdown in the third quarter, his fifth of the season. He tied a season high with 18 carries and put up his second most rushing yards with 89. He also set season highs in receptions (six) and receiving yards (74). Campbell has proven to be a consistent producer and should continue to do so against easier opponents throughout the rest of the campaign.

Cam Fancher - Excellent in close loss Fancher was 22-for-30 passing for 351 yards, three touchdowns and one interception during Saturday's 41-37 defeat versus North Texas. He also had 15 rushes for 69 yards.

Impact Fancher had by far his best outing of the season Saturday, highlighted by his explosion of 351 passing yards and three touchdowns. He came into the game with a season high of 193 passing yards and had thrown just two touchdowns through five games. He was also productive on the ground as he rushed for a season-high 69 yards, his fourth game this season with at least 60 yards rushing. His lack of production to this point had been concerning, so it's unclear how to process this latest breakout. If he can maintain even close to this level of passing production, that combined with his high rushing floor gives him loads of potential.

Impact Fancher was previously listed as questionable with a thumb injury before being confirmed as the starter for Saturday. The redshirt junior quarterback has struggled to get things going through the air for most of the season, throwing for 707 yards and two touchdowns to five interceptions through the team's first five games.

Impact Fancher, did not see any first team reps during last week's bye week practice, with Kasen Weisman running as the one, but Fancher has returned to practice and is taking first-team reps on Tuesday, according to FAU Owls Nest. The 6-foot-2 redshirt junior, who suffered a thumb injury in Week 5 against Wagner, has thrown for 707 yards (69-of-115), two touchdowns and five interceptions, adding on 219 yards and one touchdown with his legs. Fancher will look for a rebound performance after a rough start during his return to the field this week.

Cam Fancher - Probable for next game Fancher (thumb) is probable for the Owls' game against North Texas on Oct. 12, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact After the Owls' game against Wagner on Sept. 28, Fancher underwent an MRI of his left thumb. The scan revealed a minor strain. Considering the Owls have more than 1.5 weeks before their next game, currently scheduled for Oct. 12, Fancher is expected to be available then.

Jayshon Platt - Will redshirt 2024 season Platt will redshirt the remainder of Florida Atlantic's 2024 season, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact According to Florida Atlantic's head coach Tom Herman, Platt understands that he "needs to be developed a little bit more" and is "taking this opportunity (the remainder of Florida Atlantic's 2024 season)" for personal improvement.

Omari Hayes - Excellent in win over Wagner Hayes accrued six receptions (on seven targets) for 137 yards during Saturday's 41-10 victory over Wagner.

Impact Hayes had his best outing of the season Saturday as he set season highs in receptions and yards, and tied a season best with seven targets. It was a nice bounce back for him coming off two straight quiet outings. Hayes has caught 19 passes through five games, but the lack of overall production in the Owls' passing game limits his upside when he's not going up against FCS programs.

Zuberi Mobley - Productive in Saturday's win Mobley tallied 11 rushes for 77 yards and one touchdown and caught their only target for 15 yards during Saturday's 41-10 win versus Wagner.

Impact Mobley was once again outshined by CJ Campbell, but this time he was able to produce as well. He averaged seven yards per carry on his 11 rushing attempts and scored his fourth touchdown of the season. He has been splitting carries with Campbell, but the pair of backs have been productive as a combination, although not always individually. With only conference opponents remaining, one of the two may establish themselves as the true lead back.

Impact Campbell had his best outing of the season Saturday as he rushed for a season-high 145 yards on just 15 carries, and scored two touchdowns in his second straight game. He did not catch a pass for the first time this season, but given the game was a blowout, that is not a major concern moving forward. He's still splitting carries with Zuberi Mobley, but Campbell has proven he can still be productive in the split backfield.

Kasen Weisman - Scores TD Saturday Weisman completed 7 of 12 passes for 98 yards and one interception during Saturday's 41-10 win over Wagner. He also had five rushes for 15 yards with one touchdown.

Impact Weisman split quarterbacking duties with Cam Fancher Saturday and while he did not do much, he did score a touchdown on the ground. He completed less than 60 percent of his passes and threw an interception in the passing game though, which may hurt his chances to overtake Fancher's job. It's unclear where things stand under center for the Owls, but Weisman has a chance to take over the starting job with Fancher continuing to struggle.

Cam Fancher - Quiet in split action Fancher completed 9 of 12 passes for 150 yards and one interception during Saturday's 41-10 victory versus Wagner.

Impact Fancher split snaps with Karen Weisman Saturday and was not able to do much. He was efficient throwing the ball as he completed 75 percent of his passes and threw for 150 yards on just 12 attempts, but he also threw his fifth interception of the season. He also surprisingly only rushed one time, but he could have just been saving his legs against a weaker opponent. It's unclear what the Owls are going to do at quarterback moving forward, but Fancher is at best on the hot seat as the current starter.

Kasen Weisman - Slated for expanded role Weisman will see an expanded role under center during Saturday's game against Wagner, FAU Owls Nest reports.

Impact Weisman, who saw his first collegiate snaps with FAU against UConn, will be more involved in a showdown with the Seahawks during Week 5. The 6-foot-2 redshirt freshman will have a chance to showcase his abilities with starter Cam Fancher (557 yards (60-for-103), two touchdowns and four interceptions across four games), struggling to get going with the Owls.

Zuberi Mobley - Outshined in loss Mobley recorded 10 rushes for 36 yards and caught their only target for zero yards during Saturday's 48-14 loss versus Connecticut.

Impact Mobley out-touched CJ Campbell Saturday but was completely outplayed as Campbell gained nearly 70 yards and scored two rushing touchdowns. It was a disappointing outing for Mobley after he ran for 134 yards and three touchdowns last week. He should have plenty of opportunities to produce versus Wagner, but his lack of consistent production is a concern long term.

CJ Campbell Jr. - Scores twice versus UConn Campbell Jr. totaled six carries for 53 yards and two touchdowns and caught 1 of 2 targets for 16 yards during Saturday's 48-14 defeat against Connecticut.

Impact Campbell was out-carried by Zuberi Mobley, but he accumulated more rushing yards and scored the Owls only two touchdowns of the game. His seven touches are the fewest he has had this season, but the Owls were losing throughout the game. Unfortunately for him, it appears he will be splitting the backfield with Mobley -- not to mention quarterback Cam Fancher -- but Campbell has proven his ability to produce even in the committee backfield.

Cam Fancher - Struggles in loss to UConn Fancher was 9-for-15 passing for 87 yards and one interception during Saturday's 48-14 defeat against Connecticut. He also had eight rushes for 71 yards.

Impact Fancher set season lows in passing attempts, completions and yards Saturday as he didn't hit the century mark in passing yards. He also failed to throw a touchdown for the second straight week and threw his fourth interception of the season. He had another nice day on the ground with 71 yards on nearly nine yards per attempt, but he will not produce enough unless he puts up better numbers through the air.
