Tosses three scores in win McCarthy completed 28 of his 36 passes for 304 yards and a 3:1 TD:INT ratio during Saturday's 31-10 win over Indiana. He also added 26 rushing yards on four carries.

Impact McCarthy took a while to get things going in Saturday's three-score win, throwing all three of his touchdowns during the second half. The 6-foot-3 sophomore also had a near-touchdown pass tipped and intercepted in the end zone midway through the third quarter, marking his first turnover since taking over as the Wolverines' starting quarterback in Week 2. McCarthy has completed 74.4 percent of his 86 passing attempts for 679 yards and six touchdowns to one interception over the past three Big Ten games, though he'll face his toughest test yet when Michigan takes on the stout Penn State defense at home on Oct. 15.

Notches first road win McCarthy completed 18 of his 24 passes for 155 yards and one touchdown while netting negative-14 yards over five rushes during Saturday's 27-14 win at Iowa.

Impact McCarthy registered his least productive performance of the season with 141 total yards against the nation's best scoring defense. While the quarterback did nearly turn the ball over with a fumble that was recovered by the Wolverines, the sophomore still guided his team to a win during the first road test of his young starting career. McCarthy's 12-yard touchdown pass to running back Donovan Edwards helped seal this win early in the second half. The first-year starter will have a chance to put up bigger numbers in next week's road matchup at Indiana.

Impact McCarthy put together a solid passing performance (8.5 yards per attempt) while tossing for season-highs in completions during Saturday's close win over the Terrapins. However, the sophomore starter put the ball on the ground twice over his five carries, though both fumbles were recovered by the Wolverines. McCarthy will need to clean up these turnover-worthy plays heading into next week's road game against the superb Hawkeyes defense.

Strong showing in second start McCarthy completed 15 of his 18 passes for 214 yards and notched seven rushing yards on three carries during Saturday's 59-0 win against Connecticut.

Impact McCarthy registered another productive passing performance during his second-straight start in Week 3, averaging 11.9 yards per attempt. The sophomore signal-caller has yet to put together a similarly explosive rushing performance since being named Michigan's starting quarterback for the remainder of the 2022 season. It's possible that the Wolverines' coaching staff may continue to curb McCarthy's rushing attempts as he figures to serve as the team's exclusive option under center after previous starter Cade McNamara suffered an undisclosed injury near the end of the first half against Connecticut, thus setting him up to miss "a few weeks" according to coach Jim Harbaugh. The new No. 1 passer will see his first true test as Michigan opens up Big Ten play against Maryland this coming Saturday.
