Paces rushing attack in Rose Bowl Allen accrued 11 rushes for 37 yards and one touchdown and hauled in all three targets for 16 yards during Monday's 35-21 win over Utah in the Rose Bowl.

Impact Allen once again led the Nittany Lions in carries during this huge second-half showing for the team's offense. However, the 201-pound ball carrier saw just five touches after the first quarter, as fellow true freshman running back Nicholas Singleton (seven rushes, 120 yards, two touchdowns) and quarterback Sean Clifford (16-for-21 passing, 279 yards, two touchdowns) took over with multiple long scoring plays in the middle two quarters. Nevertheless, Allen still logged his 10th rushing touchdown of the season with a one-yard plunge to put Penn State up 35-14 early in the fourth quarter. Allen thus finished his 2022 true freshman campaign with 187 touches for 1,055 yards and 11 total touchdowns across 13 games.

Impact Allen once again formed the Nittany Lions' top rushing duo alongside fellow true freshman Nicholas Singleton (21 carries, 87 yards, one touchdown), as running back Devyn Ford left the Penn State football program Saturday. While sophomore rusher Keyvone Lee (10 rushes, 40 yards) did return from an undisclosed injury in Week 5, the two freshmen still accounted for over two-thirds of their team's rushing attempts. While Allen and Singleton did combine for three lost fumbles in Saturday's rainy win, the two appear to have cemented themselves as the clear top two backs moving forward.
