Kadin Semonza - Not named QB1 Semonza will not be Tulane's starting quarterback for Week 1, Pete Thamel of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Tulane's starting quarterback is Zeon Chriss-Gremillion, a fifth-year senior who started at both Houston and Louisiana before transferring to Tulane. Semonza will serve as the backup for the Green Wave when they open their season at Duke on Sept. 5.

Impact Tulane will open the season with ex-Power Conference player Chriss-Gremillion, even though his primary quarterback competition, Kadin Semonza, has much more FBS experience. During the former's time with Houston, he was quite turnover-prone, finishing his two-season UH tenure with a 5-9 TD-INT ratio. But if Chriss-Gremillion can clean that up, he can be a sneakily great option at Duke, as his running offers promise. In his best season for Houston, 2024, he logged 114 rushing attempts for 388 yards (3.4 per carry) and four touchdowns, showing dual-threat talent without the passing-game consistency.

Impact Semonza has been a standout performer for Tulane in the fall camp, and he has separated himself from the rest of the competition in the QB room. Even though a starter under center has yet to be announced, Semonza seems to have a leg up in the QB race ahead of Dagan Bruno and Trace Johnson.

Impact It looks like McClure's injured foot will be a theme throughout Tulane's fall camp, as he is officially questionable for the Green Wave's season opener, even though it is multiple weeks away. Considering that they open their regular season in a relatively difficult fashion, against a Power Conference team, having him available for Week 1 would be in demand. After all, McClure significantly improved from 2024 to 2025, with the latter year including the running back's career-best 540 rushing attempts and two touchdowns.

Jamauri McClure - Dealing with left foot injury McClure is dealing with a left foot injury and could miss the season opener against Duke on Sep. 5, Guerry Smith of The New Orleans Advocate reports.
Impact McClure watched Tuesday's practice from a scooter, and head coach Will Hall said the running back will be back early in the season, though the opener against the Blue Devils might be too soon. With McClure out, expect Maurice Turner and Jaylin Lucas to see expanded roles out of the backfield.

Impact McClure was previously expected to be a full participant for fall camp and has now personally confirmed that he feels healthy following spring shoulder surgery. The running back is coming off a breakout season with Tulane, recording 83 carries for 540 yards and two touchdowns. He will the backfield this year, and fall practices will give him the opportunity to test his shoulder in pads.
