Jaylin Lane - Held in check in loss Lane tallied two receptions (on six targets) for 38 yards during Saturday's 26-23 defeat to Rutgers.

Impact Virginia Tech's entire passing game was bottled up against Rutgers, and Lane felt the effects of that. Coming off a big performance last week against Old Dominion, Lane was held to his worst stat-line of 2024. Still, he saw six targets and will remain a focal point of this passing game moving forward, one that's been tepid with quarterback Kyron Drones.

Bhayshul Tuten - Another huge performance Tuten posted 15 rushes for 122 yards and three touchdowns during Saturday's 26-23 loss to Rutgers.

Impact Tuten managed to pile on the production despite a loss at the hands of the Scarlet Knights. He's now gone over 115 yards rushing for three straight weeks, and the tailback has seven touchdowns through four games. He's off to a tremendous start this season, and will continue to lead the way in the Hokies' backfield.

Kyron Drones - Poor day as a passer Drones completed 13 of 27 passes for 137 yards and one interception during Saturday's 26-23 loss against Rutgers. He also had nine rushes for 60 yards.

Impact Drones remains a highly effective mobile quarterback, but he struggled through the air against Rutgers' tough defense, completing a season-low 48 percent of his passes while throwing a pick. Drones hasn't put up big numbers in the passing game since the opener, and he's been uneven the past two weeks. The quarterback will look for a bounce-back performance against Miami (FL) on Friday night.

After a big performance in the opener with 91 yards and a score, Jennings has been a limited participant in this passing offense with just four catches through three games. With the way his quarterback, Kyron Drones, likes to run the football, there may not be as many opportunities for too many receivers to eat in this offense.
