Takes loss Saturday Senzatela (3-4) took the loss against Minnesota on Saturday, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out six.

Impact Senzatela fell behind by two runs after two innings, and he allowed two more runs in the fifth before exiting. That was more than the Twins needed to claim victory, as a group of five pitchers held Colorado to a single hit in the contest. Senzatela was coming off a strong run of three straight quality starts, but his subpar outing Saturday pushed his season ERA back up to 4.66.

Impact Despite giving up six hits and two walks, Senzatela was able to limit the damage to just one earned run, which came on a solo shot from Luke Voit in the second inning. The righty threw 51 of 87 pitches for strikes in the outing. It was Senzatela's third quality start in a row and his fourth this season. He will take a 4.42 ERA into his next appearance.

Strikes out four in quality start Senzatela gave up three earned runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out four in a 4-3 extra-inning loss to the Guardians on Tuesday. He did not factor into the decision.

Impact Senzatela pieced together a quality start despite only racking up four strikeouts. His strikeout percentage is in the lowest one percentile of all eligible pitchers and he has an abysmal 4.6 K/9 this season, which is markedly down from his career 6.0 K/9 number. The problems here cannot be chalked up to Senzatela's notoriously hitter-friendly home park. In 2022, he has a 6.75 ERA on the road. The Rockies continue to trot him out there every five days, so he lines up for his next start versus the Padres on Sunday.

Bounces back with strong outing Senzatela did not factor in the decision against San Francisco on Wednesday, allowing one run on six hits and one walk while striking out six over six innings.

Impact Senzatela was knocked around for six earned runs over 5.1 innings in his previous start, so this was a nice response by the right-hander. He allowed only one run and went just long enough to finish with his first quality start since April 29. Senzatela isn't much of a fantasy asset given his 4.83 ERA, 1.85 WHIP and lowly 4.4 K/9 on the season thus far.

Impact Senzatela missed two weeks with a back injury, and his return didn't go very well. Seven of the Marlins' nine starting hitters logged multiple hits in the contest, which saw the visitors log 21 hits overall. The right-hander has given up five or more runs in three of his eight appearances this year. He now has a 5.40 ERA, 1.97 WHIP and 14:8 K:BB through 35 innings. Senzatela will look to limit the baserunners on the road in San Francisco in his projected start next week.

Impact Even though Senzatela was roughed up for four earned runs on eight hits and a walk over four innings in his rehab start Friday with Triple-A Albuquerque, the Rockies felt comfortable enough with how the right-hander checked out of the outing physically to bring him back from the IL. Since he built up to 77 pitches in the rehab start, Senzatela shouldn't face any major restrictions from a workload standpoint as he slots back into the Colorado rotation for the first time since May 16.
