Ketel Marte - Battling knee soreness Marte left Saturday's game against the Cubs in the seventh inning due to right knee soreness.
Impact After fouling a ball off his right knee in the first inning, Marte's injury caught up to him in the seventh, and he was replaced at second base by Geraldo Perdomo. Marte's injury doesn't seem to be severe -- especially since he remained in the game after initially injuring his knee -- and he could potentially return to the lineup in a day or two.

Ketel Marte - Exits early Saturday Marte was removed from Saturday's game against the Cubs in the seventh inning, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.
Impact Marte fouled a ball off his knee in the first inning of Saturday's contest, but he was able to stay in for another six innings afterward. The fact Marte was able to remain in the game for so long likely means he's not seriously injured, but the D-backs will surely keep an eye on him. Marte should be considered day-to-day for now.

Impact Lawlar made a second consecutive start after getting called up Thursday. Impact Thomas has now stolen bases in back-to-back games after also swiping a bag in Thursday's victory over the Cubs. He also posted the hardest hit ball of the game with a 109.3-mph single in the ninth inning. The 23-year-old has produced a .263 batting average with six homers and six stolen bases over 210 plate appearances since being recalled from Triple-A on June 19.

Impact Perdomo shifted from his normal shortstop position to make his second start of the season at third base, as shortstop prospect Jordan Lawlar was promoted and made his MLB debut. The switch-hitting Perdomo's been the primary starter at shortstop against right-handers, but that changed Thursday with the arrival of Lawlar. If the Diamondbacks continue to align as they did Thursday, then it's likely Perdomo will qualify as a corner infielder next season. In addition to two starts at the hot corner, he's also played parts of 11 other games at third base, either when he started at another position or entered a game late.

Impact Lawlar was promoted from Triple-A Reno ahead of Thursday's series-opener and made his MLB debut. He collected his first hit in the fourth inning, beating out an infield grounder to third base, and made a couple of nifty plays in the field. Of note, the Diamondbacks faced a right-hander. Prior to Lawlar's promotion, that typically meant the switch hitting Geraldo Perdomo at shortstop and a rotation of lefty-batters at third base. That changed Thursday, when the right-handed hitting Lawlar started at short and Perdomo moved to third base, which suggests these two may make up the left side of the infield going forward, regardless of the handedness of that day's starter.
