Caleb Smith - Undergoes surgery Smith underwent surgery on his right pinky finger Tuesday, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Impact Smith was injured following an outing Saturday when he punched something in frustration. The injury was first reported as a fractured hand, but Tuesday's report indicates it's a finger injury. Arizona manager Torey Lovullo did not have a timetable for Smith's return, though it's safe to assume he'll miss most, if not the rest, of the season.

Ian Kennedy - Earns fifth save Kennedy picked up the save Tuesday in Cleveland, striking out the side in the ninth inning of a 6-3 victory.

Impact Kennedy made quick work of the final three spots in Cleveland's lineup, needing 14 pitches to punch out all three batters. It was his fifth save of the season and first since June 9. Mark Melancon took the loss Sunday and Monday and may have just been given a day of rest, leading to Kennedy's save chance. That said, given Melancon's recent struggles and 4.66 ERA for the season, it wouldn't be surprising to see Kennedy receive a few more save opportunities over the last two months.

Josh Rojas - Swipes 12th bag Rojas went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in a 6-3 win Tuesday in Cleveland.

Impact Rojas walked and stole second in the first inning and is now 12-for-12 in stolen base attempts on the season. The 28-year-old is amid a mini-slump, going 1-for-16 in his last four contests. Overall, he's posted a .268/.344/.397 line that is quite comparable to his .264/.341/.411 line from a season ago.

The 27-year-old has a 3.31 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 106:32 K:BB in 111.1 innings this season but he has hit 12 batters this season. His next start will likely be early next week against Pittsburgh.

Impact One of Arizona's best pitching prospects, Pfaadt had a 4.99 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 82:9 K:BB in 57.2 innings over his last 10 starts while pitching in hitter-friendly conditions. The conditions won't get any better in the Pacific Coast League. Pfaadt's 3.65 xFIP at Double-A is a more indicative mark as to how well he did at that level. He could join the big-league rotation early next year.

Tommy Henry - Set to make big-league debut Henry will be called up from Triple-A Reno to start Wednesday's game against the Guardians, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Impact The Diamondbacks needed to add a starter to their rotation, and they decided to go with Henry, who posted a 3.83 ERA and 1.34 WHIP over 20 starts with Triple-A this season. Henry tossed a total of 24.2 innings over his last four Triple-A starts, so he shouldn't be on a strict pitch count in his big-league debut.
