Josh Rojas - Fills in at second base Rojas started at second base and went 1-for-4 in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Giants.

Impact Rojas filled in at second base for a second consecutive game with Ketel Marte (hamstring) unavailable. Marte's injury is not considered serious at this point, so Rojas will eventually move back to third base, which is being handled by Emmanuel Rivera for now. It was the fifth start at second for Rojas, who's in danger of losing middle-infielder eligibility in 2023 depending on league requirements.

Joe Mantiply - Holds lead once again Mantiply allowed one hit while striking out three over one inning to earn a hold in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Giants.

Impact Mantiply locked down the eighth inning, a feat he's accomplishing with regularity, before Ian Kennedy blew the save in the ninth. The left-hander has made 11 consecutive scoreless appearances, picking up five holds while striking out 11 and walking two over 9.1 innings. Mantiply has yet to be handed a save opportunity since Mark Melancon was removed from the role, but manager Torey Lovullo indicated earlier that he has no problem rolling with Mantiply if left-handers are due up.

Impact Those are impressive numbers, but they come with two major asterisks: a .418 BABIP and a 2:25 BB:K. However, he's also a 19-year-old in a league where he's 3.5 years younger than the average player, so the fact that he's been able to put up gaudy numbers early on in High-A despite facing more advanced pitching has to weigh in his favor. He won't be rushed to the big leagues and he may not stick at third base, where he's been an absolute butcher this season (15 errors), but there are precious few minor leaguers who can match his power.

Ketel Marte - Injury may not be serious Arizona manager Torey Lovullo said Marte's hamstring does not warrant a trip to the injured list, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

Impact Marte was removed from Sunday's game in Colorado during the ninth inning when he felt tightness in his left hamstring. Lovullo said there are no plans for Marte to undergo imaging, a sign that the team feels the injury is not serious. The Diamondbacks noted this was the third time Marte injured his hamstring while playing in Denver, and Lovullo said the second baseman will likely get one day off every time the team travels to Colorado. The Diamondbacks will be in Denver for a third and final time from Sept. 9 through 11.
