Impact Both of Rojas' doubles accounted for his three RBI as he helped the Diamondbacks strengthen their lead in the seventh and eighth innings. The 28-year-old has already racked up five multi-hit efforts in nine games in July, matching his number of such performances from 24 contests in June. The infielder's success at the plate has lifted his batting average 36 points from .248 at the end of June to .284 after Saturday's contest. He's added a .787 OPS, five home runs, 26 RBI, 34 runs scored, seven stolen bases and 13 doubles through 221 plate appearances this year.

Madison Bumgarner - Allows two runs in win Bumgarner (5-8) allowed two runs on six hits and struck out five without walking a batter in seven innings to earn the win Saturday over the Rockies.

Impact Bumgarner didn't have more than one win in any of the first three months of the campaign, but his victory Saturday was his second in as many starts in July. This was just the second time he's completed seven frames this year. A Kris Bryant solo home run in the first inning and a Charlie Blackmon RBI single in the third accounted for the damage. Bumgarner dropped his ERA to 3.65 with a 1.35 WHIP and 66:29 K:BB through 91.1 innings overall. The southpaw is projected to make his last start of the first half next week in San Diego.

Impact Carroll appeared in a pair of rehab games on his way back from the COVID-19 injured list, but he'll head to Reno rather than Double-A Amarillo now that he's ready to go. The 21-year-old center fielder is one of the top prospects in baseball and has performed like one so far this season, hitting .313/.430/.643 in 58 Double-A games while adding 16 home runs and 20 steals. Judging by talent alone, it's not hard to make the case that Carroll already deserves a spot on the Diamondbacks' major-league roster, but the team is nowhere near the playoff hunt and may wait to start his clock until next season.

Impact Alcantara hit a two-run blast in the second inning to give the Diamondbacks a 3-1 lead. This was his first hit in two contests since he rejoined Arizona after being waived by the Padres. He's posted a lackluster .163/.186/.272 slash line with two home runs, 12 RBI, 10 runs scored, two doubles and a triple through 99 plate appearances. Considering his homer Friday was his first hit since June 17, he shouldn't be expected to do much when he's in the lineup.

His place in Arizona's lineup is fairly secure, as he hits leadoff versus righties and in the bottom half of the order versus southpaws.
