Ian Anderson - Gets back in win column Anderson (7-5) earned the win during Tuesday's 7-1 victory over St. Louis, allowing one run on eight hits and one walk with three strikeouts in five innings.

Impact Anderson permitted three consecutive two-out hits in the first inning in surrendering his lone run, however Atlanta quickly rallied for five runs in the bottom of the inning. It was a nice rebound from a poor June that featured a 6.91 ERA in six starts, though it was only the 24-year-old's second start in his last nine allowing one run or fewer. Anderson lines up for another start this weekend against Washington.

Orlando Arcia - Sits in second straight game Arcia is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cardinals.

Impact Phil Gosselin will pick up a second straight start at second base in place of Arcia, whose ongoing slump may have prompted manager Brian Snitker to go in a different direction. Before sitting out Monday's 6-3 win, Arcia had gone 2-for-28 with 10 strikeouts over his last eight contests.

Impact It has been nearly two months since Yates resumed throwing, but Atlanta is not in any hurry to rush him back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent in March of 2021. The expectation remains that he will be ready to rejoin Atlanta at some point in August.

Mike Soroka - Making encouraging progress Soroka (Achilles) continues throwing at Atlanta's spring training complex, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

Impact It's not exactly clear where Soroka stands in his recovery, but he has been throwing for more than a month, and manager Brian Snitker said Tuesday that he is encouraged by what he has seen. Soroka is not ready for a rehab assignment as of yet, but it seems possible he could be soon.
