Impact O'Hearn has gone 17-for-42 (.405) over his last 12 contests, and he appears to be the replacement for Ryan Mountcastle (illness) at first base. It's a rather unprecedented run of success for O'Hearn, who has rarely been more than a versatile bench bat in his career. He's up to a .338/.381/.623 slash line with five home runs, 19 RBI, 13 runs scored and seven doubles over 84 plate appearances. He may have some fantasy appeal, at least in AL-only formats, while he's wielding a hot bat.

Impact Irvin allowed three solo home runs in the third on hanging breaking balls, but he was otherwise sharp through four innings. It was the left-hander's second straight start in place of Grayson Rodriguez, who was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on May 27. Irvin has been much better during his current big-league stint than he was at the beginning of the year, when he gave up 15 runs over 12.2 innings, but his spot in the Orioles' rotation depends on how successful he is moving forward. His next outing will come at home versus a Seattle squad that has struggled against lefties.

Impact Mountcastle was placed on the injured list earlier this week due to vertigo. Orioles manager Brandon Hyde noted Friday that while the first baseman is feeling better, he's not fully back just yet. Austin Hays - Homers in Thursday's win Hays went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Blue Jays.

Impact Hays provided the last run of the game with his eighth-inning blast. He's homered twice and driven in four runs over his last six games, and he's now batting .286 (14-for-49) in June. The outfielder is up to eight homers, 29 RBI, 36 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .306/.344/.507 slash line over 62 contests overall. He remains a fixture in the corner outfield for the Orioles, as Aaron Hicks has taken over center field with Cedric Mullins (groin) sidelined.

Impact After going down on strikes in his first at-bat, Rutschman went on to reach base in each of his next three trips to the plate. His leadoff home run in the bottom of the fifth tied the game at 2-2, while his two-out single in the sixth advanced Austin Hays to second base before the latter eventually came around to score the leading run. The home run was Rutschman's first since May 26 and he's now 6-for-14 at the plate over his last three games.

Félix Bautista - Nails down 18th save Bautista picked up the save Thursday against Toronto, striking out two over 1.1 scoreless innings while not allowing any hits or walks.

Impact Bautista entered the contest with two outs in the eighth and went to work with his four-seamer, striking out Matt Chapman to end the inning. It was more of the same in the ninth as the right-hander struck out Kevin Kiermaier on five straight four-seamers to open the inning before retiring the next two batters to secure his 18th save. Bautista has converted each of his last seven save attempts and has at least two strikeouts in all five of his June appearances.

Tyler Wells - Fans eight in win Wells (6-2) earned the win Thursday, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk over 6.2 innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out eight.

Impact Wells was able to keep a dangerous Blue Jays lineup at bay for most of the afternoon, with the exception of Danny Jensen, who took the right-hander deep in the third and fifth innings to provide Toronto with their only runs in the contest. The right-hander has now won each of his last three starts for Baltimore and has struck out at least seven batters in six of his last seven. Wells has also held opponents to two earned runs or fewer in four straight, lowering his ERA to a very respectable 3.20 on the season.
