Austin Voth - Shut down for one week Voth (elbow) has been given anti-inflammatories and will be shut down for one week, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact Voth landed on the injured list Wednesday with right elbow inflammation, an issue which has apparently been bothering him since spring training, per Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com. The Orioles seem confident the injury is minor and Voth could be back when his 15 days are up.

Aaron Hicks - Sitting out Thursday Hicks is absent from the lineup for Thursday's tilt against the Blue Jays.

Impact Hicks has reached base in all 12 games since joining the Orioles, but he'll take a seat for this one. Ryan McKenna is getting the start in center field.

Cole Irvin - Picking up another start Irvin is scheduled to start Friday's game against the Cubs.

Impact Irvin will receive a second turn through the Baltimore rotation, filling the spot that previously belonged to Grayson Rodriguez before the rookie right-hander was optioned to Triple-A Norfolk on May 27. In his return to the big leagues last weekend versus the Royals, Irvin picked up a win while striking out five over 5.1 innings of one-run ball. Though he'll be making his upcoming start on the road at Wrigley Field, Irvin will at least draw another favorable matchup versus a Cubs offense that ranks 27th of the 30 teams in wRC+ (72) since the beginning of June.

Kyle Bradish - Hit with tough loss Bradish (2-3) took the loss Wednesday, allowing one run on four hits with no walks over seven innings against the Blue Jays. He struck out one.

Impact Bradish retired nine of the first 10 batters he faced while hitting Vlad Guerrero Jr. with a pitch to open the second inning. He went on to allow only four hits over seven frames, with his biggest mistake coming in the form of a changeup left out over the plate, which George Springer crushed over the left field wall to put Toronto on the scoreboard. The right-hander was charged with the loss despite limiting the Blue Jays to one run and is still looking for his first win since May 17 against the Angels. Bradish also recorded just one strikeout on the night after posting a season-high 10 strikeouts in his previous start.

Austin Voth - Shelved with elbow discomfort The Orioles placed Voth on the 15-day injured list Wednesday with right elbow discomfort.

Impact Voth will be shut down after he recorded just one out while allowing two earned runs on three hits and one walk in a relief appearance in Tuesday's 11-6 win over the Blue Jays. The Orioles will presumably send Voth in for further testing to determine whether he's dealing with an elbow strain or anything more severe than soreness or inflammation. Baltimore called up right-hander Reed Garrett from Triple-A Norfolk to take Voth's spot in the bullpen.

Reed Garrett - Contract selected from Triple-A Baltimore selected Garrett's contract from Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Dan Connolly of The Athletic reports.

Impact Garrett has pitched exceptionally well for Triple-A Norfolk in 2023 with a 1.59 ERA and 27 strikeouts over 22.2 innings in 19 appearances. The right-hander will be a mid-to-late innings option for Baltimore, and he takes the place of Austin Voth after Voth was placed on the 15-day injured list with discomfort in his right elbow.

Impact Kolozsvary was optioned to Triple-A earlier Wednesday and he is now no longer a part of the team's 40-man roster. The catcher will either report to Norfolk, get claimed by another team or be released outright, the first of which seems most likely. Jorge Mateo - On bench again Wednesday Mateo is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

Impact For the second time in three games and the third time in six games, Mateo finds himself on the bench while the Orioles roll out an infield of Josh Lester, Adam Frazier, Gunnar Henderson and Ramon Urias. Mateo still profiles as the Orioles' top option at shortstop for now, but it's clear that he's on a shorter leash after having slashed .152/.186/.179 since the beginning of May following an excellent first month of the season. Utility players Ramon Urias and Josh Lester represent Mateo's biggest threats for playing time at the moment, but shortstop Jordan Westburg -- who has posted a .966 OPS in 262 plate appearances at Triple-A Norfolk -- could end up serving as a permanent replacement for Mateo at some point later this season.
