He'll get the chance to do that as he returns to Norfolk, while the Orioles activated catcher James McCann (oblique) from the 10-day injured list to fill the opening on the 26-man active roster.

Impact McCann spent just over the minimum 10 days on the shelf due to the left oblique strain he suffered back on March 20 in the latter stages of spring training. He'll settle in as the primary backup to standout catcher Adley Rutschman, though McCann doesn't project to play more than a couple times per week. The Orioles also have a third catcher (Anthony Bemboom) on the 26-man active roster for the moment, as Baltimore chose to option outfielder Kyle Stowers to the minors to make room for McCann.

Impact Getting the start at shortstop and batting fifth, Henderson swiped his first base of the season in the fourth inning, but the O's couldn't cash him in. The 21-year-old is getting used as something of a super-utility player again rather than being allowed to get comfortable at one spot on defense -- he's seen action in three games at third base and two at shortstop so far, in addition to two starts as the DH -- and that may have contributed to his sluggish performance at the plate. Henderson's batting just .167 (4-for-24) with one homer, one steal, two RBI and three runs, and his 41.9 percent strikeout rate is a huge step back from his 25.8 percent mark last year for the O's. It's too early to get too worried, but Henderson appears to be pressing to begin his first full season in the majors.

Cole Irvin - Another shaky outing Saturday Irvin (0-2) took the loss Saturday as the Orioles fell 4-1 to the Yankees, giving up three runs on four hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. He struck out five.
Impact The southpaw's debut with Baltimore has not gone smoothly so far. Irvin was expected to provide the team with some stability in the rotation, but instead he's failed to last five innings in either of his first two starts, stumbling to a 9.35 ERA and 9:6 K:BB through 8.2 innings. He'll look to turn things around in his next outing, which could come next week in a home tilt against his former club, the A's.
