Robbie Grossman - Homers again Sunday Grossman went 2-for-3 with two walks, a three-run home run and four total RBI in Sunday's win over the Rangers.
Impact Grossman went deep for the second straight day and he got to it right away, taking Dane Dunning deep in the first inning with two runners on. The homers are the first two of the season for the veteran outfielder, who hit a career-best 23 long balls last year. Grossman's previous career high was 11, so the 2021 total looks a little bit like an outlier.

Gregory Soto - Bounces back Sunday Soto pitched a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation during Sunday's 7-3 win over the Rangers. He struck out one.
Impact Soto struggled in his last appearance Thursday, allowing three earned runs and blowing his second save chance of the year. The lefty still has been mostly solid with a 2.88 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 13 saves this season. His strikeouts are down, however, as he's currently posting an 8.6 K/9, down from 10.7 last year and 11.3 in 2020. Soto may be prone to more regular bad outings unless he can start missing more bats, though he should remain fairly secure in his role as Detroit's closer.

Javier Báez - Swipes two bags Baez went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, a walk and a run scored in a 7-3 win over Texas on Sunday.
Impact Baez singled and stole a base in the first and walked in the third. In the fifth, he reached on a fielder's choice, swiped second and came around to score. The 29-year-old has hit safely in four straight contests, going 4-for-15 with a homer. He's yet to put together one of his typical hot streaks and is hitting just .167 in 173 plate appearances since May 1.

Jeimer Candelario - Should return Monday Candelario (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Monday's game at Boston, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Candelario has been sidelined with a left shoulder subluxation since June 5, but he's ready to rejoin the Tigers after going 6-for-16 with a home run and two doubles during a four-game rehab stint with Triple-A Toledo. The 28-year-old has an awful .555 OPS through 52 games this season, but perhaps he'll reward patient fantasy managers and continue the strong performance from the rehab assignment upon his return to the big-league club.

Harold Castro - Removed from Sunday's game Castro was removed from Sunday's game against the Rangers due to calf tightness, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Castro was hit by a pitch just above his knee during Sunday's matchup, and he was ultimately removed from the game after experiencing calf tightness. Prior to his departure, he went 0-for-2 with two runs. Manager A.J. Hinch said after the game that Castro is considered day-to-day prior to Monday's series opener against Boston.

Drew Hutchison - Designated for assignment Hutchison was designated for assignment by the Tigers on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Hutchison made his second major-league start of the season Sunday against the Rangers and allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out one in 4.2 innings. He didn't factor into the decision but will lose his spot on the 40-man roster following the start. Over 12 appearances (two starts) in 2022, the right-hander has posted a 4.81 ERA and 1.52 WHIP in 24.1 innings.

After playing well in late April and early May, things have not gone well for the outfielder. Although his June batting average is .240, he is slashing just .205/.304/.259 on the season.
