Austin Meadows - Tests positive for COVID-19 Meadows will be placed on the COVID-19 injured list Friday after testing positive for the virus, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Impact Meadows was a late scratch from Friday's lineup, and he'll be forced to isolate from the team after testing positive for COVID-19. The 27-year-old will be eligible to rejoin the team as soon as he clears the league's health and safety protocols, but the Tigers will select the contract of prospect Riley Greene, who will make his major-league debut Saturday against the Rangers.

Riley Greene - MLB debut coming Saturday Greene is getting promoted from Triple-A Toledo and will be in Saturday's lineup against the Rangers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact One of the top prospects in the game, Greene will be taking the place of Austin Meadows, who is headed to the COVID-19 injured list. Greene missed the first couple months of the year with an injury and is hitting .291/.350/.418 with one home run and three steals over his last 55 at-bats. While Meadows' absence should be brief, Greene may still be up for good, getting playing time over players like Willi Castro, Robbie Grossman and Victor Reyes.

Impact Meadows was slated to start in right field and bat cleanup Friday but was ultimately removed from the lineup several hours before first pitch. It's not yet clear whether he's dealing with an injury or whether he'll be available off the bench, but Victor Reyes will shift to right field while Willi Castro enters the lineup in center.

Eric Haase - Showing more life lately Haase, who went 2-for-4 with a double in Thursday's loss to the Rangers, is slashing .273/.304/.455 through eight games this month.
Impact Considering Haase is slashing just .191/.248/.309 for the season, his June performance has been a breath of fresh air. He's still in a bit of a reserve role, with Tucker Barnhart serving as Detroit's top catcher, so Haase's fantasy value will be limited unless his playing time increases.

Gregory Soto - Blows save Thursday Soto (2-4) took the loss and a blown save Thursday versus the Rangers. He allowed three runs on a hit, two walks and a hit batter while striking out two in one inning.
Impact Soto loaded the bases and then saw them cleared when Ezequiel Duran hit a three-run triple to put the Rangers ahead. Prior to Thursday, Soto had converted his last nine save chances. This was only the third time all year he's allowed multiple runs, and he still has a solid 3.00 ERA with a 1.29 WHIP and 23:12 K:BB across 24 innings. The southpaw is 13-for-15 in save chances, so his role as closer should be fairly stable unless he endures an extended slump.

Drew Hutchison - Receiving another start Hutchison is listed as the Tigers' scheduled starting pitcher for Sunday's home game against the Rangers, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.
Impact Hutchison entered the rotation Tuesday as a replacement for Elvin Rodriguez, who was demoted to Triple-A Toledo. The veteran right-hander wasn't overly impressive in a losing effort against the White Sox -- he gave up two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out one over four innings -- but the Tigers' lack of healthy alternatives will allow Hutchison to make at least one more turn through the rotation. Hutchison will be in danger of losing out on a starting role as soon as one of Michael Pineda (finger), Matt Manning (biceps) or Eduardo Rodriguez (personal) is activated.
