Resumes rehab assignment Ynoa (elbow/shoulder) will resume a rehab assignment with Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday.

Impact Ynoa was initially working his way back from Tommy John surgery but has had setbacks with both his elbow and more recently his shoulder. He's been cleared for game action again and will hope to ramp things up in time to help Atlanta down the stretch.

However, he was moved back on the injured list with elbow inflammation in late April and had completed five rehab outings before being returned Saturday with a shoulder injury. It's unclear how severe the setback will be, but Ynoa had thrown at least three innings in three consecutive minor-league outings and seemed close to being activated. In those three appearances, Ynoa allowed just one run with eight strikeouts across 9.2 innings .

Instead, look for Atlanta to option him to Gwinnett upon his activation from the 60-day injured list.

Impact Ynoa's appearance Tuesday was his first at any level since April 14, as he's been on the mend from a right elbow stress reaction for the past three months. He'll likely require the entire 30-day rehab window to get fully stretched out before he's activated from the 60-day injured list, at which point Atlanta will likely option him to Triple-A Gwinnett.

Starting rehab assignment in FCL Atlanta sent Ynoa (elbow) to their Florida Complex League affiliate Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.

Impact It will be Ynoa's first game action since he went down with a right elbow stress reaction in mid-April. The right-hander should eventually move back up to Triple-A Gwinnett once the club decides he's ready. Ynoa hasn't pitched at the major-league level since 2022, having missed all of 2023 following Tommy John surgery.
