Impact Ynoa completed his last rehab outing Wednesday, throwing 83 pitches while striking out seven across 4.2 innings. He also allowed three runs on four hits and four walks, but the team is confident enough in his form to activate him in the coming days. Prior to hitting the injured list May 17, Ynoa had maintained a 3.02 ERA and 1.05 WHIP with 50 strikeouts across 44.2 innings.

Impact Ynoa probably wasn't as sharp Wednesday as Atlanta hoped, but after building up to 83 pitches in the rehab outing, he should receive the green light to make his next start in the big leagues. Expect Atlanta to activate him from the 60-day injured list and insert him into the rotation at some point during next week's series in Miami. If manager Brian Snitker doesn't elect to expand his rotation to six men, Touki Toussaint or Kyle Muller would be the most likely candidates to head to the bullpen or to Triple-A Gwinnett to clear a spot for Ynoa.

Impact Ynoa made the second start of his rehab assignment Friday, moving from High-A Rome to Triple-A Gwinnett. He worked 3.2 innings (68 pitches) in the outing, giving up three runs (one earned) on four hits and no walks while striking out four. Ynoa is expected to build up to around 85 pitches in his upcoming rehab start, which will presumably fall Wednesday or Thursday. The 23-year-old is tracking toward a mid-August return to the Atlanta rotation, and Snitker acknowledged that the team could move from a five-man to a six-man setup in order to accommodate Ynoa, per O'Brien.
