Joins Boston on one-year pact Paxton (forearm) agreed to a one-year, $10 million contract with the Red Sox on Tuesday, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports. The deal includes a two-year team option for 2023 and 2024... Impact Paxton pitched 1.1 innings for Seattle in 2021 before requiring Tommy John surgery in April, but he's been throwing from beyond 60 feet since September and appears to be making good progress in his recovery. The 33-year-old should be ready to pitch for Boston sometime in June or July, and the team is likely to pick up the two-year option if he performs well in 2022.
