Impact The 28-year-old right-hander is coming off the worst full season of his career, posting a 5.23 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 19.8 percent strikeout rate over 172 innings, so a good spring would go a long toward reassuring fantasy GMs considering whether to gamble on a rebound. Berrios is still locked into a rotation spot for the Blue Jays, but if his 2023 begins the way his 2022 ended, his leash could be fairly short.

Impact The right-hander wasn't exactly sharp, tossing 58 of 91 pitches for strikes, but Berrios did what he needed to do to end the regular season with a win. The quality start was his 17th of the year, and he'll take a bit of momentum into the playoffs after an erratic campaign that left him with a 5.23 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 149:45 K:BB through 172 innings.

Impact The seven Ks were his highest total since he fanned nine Yankees on Aug. 18, but that was the only silver lining to Berrios' performance. The right-hander had a run of three straight quality starts to begin September but has stumbled since, giving up 11 runs in his last two outings. His 5.37 ERA and 1.43 WHIP through 166 innings on the year remain very disappointing, considering he hadn't posted an ERA above 4.00 for a season since his 58.1-inning big-league debut in 2016.

Impact Berrios surrendered a leadoff home run to Jonathan Aranda on just the second pitch he threw and it was mostly downhill from there. The right-hander would go on to allow two more runs in the inning and another three runs in the second inning before being replaced in the third. It was Berrios' shortest outing since his season opener April 8 in which he lasted just one-third of an inning, and it snapped a streak of three consecutive quality starts. He lines up to face the Yankees at home in his next start.

Impact Outside of the first three batters of the third inning, Berrios was excellent. In the third, he allowed a walk and hit a batter before a run-scoring single and an RBI groundout led to both of New York's runs. He scattered four hits over the rest of the outing and kept the Yankees off the board. It was his first good outing in August as he allowed 13 runs and four homers in 7.2 innings over his previous two starts. His next start will likely be in the middle of next week in Boston.

Impact Berrios was highly efficient Sunday, needing just 80 pitches to complete the seven frames. The lone mark against him came on a Javier Baez solo homer to lead off the fourth inning. Following that blast, he retired 12 of the last 13 batters he faced.
