David Fletcher - Shifts to 60-day IL Fletcher (hip) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Impact The 27-year-old is expected to miss multiple months after undergoing surgery to repair the adductor muscles in both legs last week, so it's not a major surprise he was moved to the 60-day IL to free up a spot on the 40-man roster. Fletcher will be eligible to be activated in mid-July, but his recovery timeline likely won't come into focus until he's able to resume baseball activities.

Andrew Wantz - Returns to Triple-A Wantz was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.

Impact Wantz was promoted from Salt Lake on Saturday and will return there without making an appearance for the Angels. He's pitched in three big-league games this season and has allowed two runs over three innings.

César Valdez - Contract selected by Halos Valdez had his contract selected by the Angels on Tuesday.

Impact The 37-year-old joined Los Angeles on a minor-league deal in mid-March and will now make his way to the big club. Valdez had a 5.87 ERA, 1.65 ERA and 45:14 K:BB over 46 innings for Baltimore last year, but he was pitching well at Triple-A Salt Lake early in 2022.

Impact Manager Joe Maddon previously said he was unsure if the the right-hander would receive another turn through the rotation after debuting over the weekend, but it's now been decided the rookie will make at least one more start for the Halos. Silseth allowed only one hit over six scoreless innings during his first big-league appearance, and another strong performance Friday could go a long way toward maintaining his spot as Los Angeles' No. 6 starter.

Impact Starter Noah Syndergaard was roughed up for six runs (four earned) over two-thirds of an inning, and after 42 pitches the Angels opted to replace him with Barria. The latter ended up tossing 62 pitches and 4.1 frames in his longest appearance of the campaign. Barria also notched a season-high four strikeouts and kept Los Angeles in the game by completing his fourth straight scoreless outing -- each of which has gone multiple innings.
