Victor Caratini - Traded to Milwaukee Caratini was traded from the Padres to the Brewers on Wednesday in exchange for Korry Howell and Brett Sullivan, Robert Murray of FanSided.com reports.
Impact The Padres have plenty of options to serve as catching depth, so Caratini will head to Milwaukee to serve as the No. 2 backstop behind Omar Narvaez after Pedro Severino was issued an 80-game suspension Tuesday. Caratini appeared in 116 games for the Padres last year and slashed .227/.309/.323 with seven home runs, 39 RBI, 33 runs and two stolen bases.

Impact Small opened at the Triple-A level for the first time, and he was plenty effective in his season debut. He now owns a 1.83 ERA in 10 career Triple-A appearances, but he also owns a 1.32 WHIP and 30:23 K:BB at the same level, so he still has some things to iron out. If he does, chances are the 25-year-old will see his first action in the big leagues at some point this season.

Brice Turang - Shines in season debut Turang went 1-for-2 with a triple, a run, an RBI and two walks in Tuesday's season opener with Triple-A Nashville.
Impact Turang is one of the more-heralded prospects in the Brewers' system, and his 2022 campaign got off to a good start. He posted just a .696 OPS in his first go-around at the Triple-A level last season, but that did include a quality .381 OBP. The Brewers are not particularly deep on the infield, so Turang has a chance to make his big-league debut sometime this season.

Impact Singleton signed a minor-league deal with the Brewers over the offseason, and he wound up going deep in his first official appearance since the 2017. Now 30 years old, the once-heralded prospect is no longer that, but he showed Tuesday he still has some pop. He's going to need a string of success to earn another shot in the big leagues, but a call-up at some point is not out of the question.

Pedro Severino - Hit with 80-game ban Severino was issued an 80-game suspension Tuesday after testing positive for Clomiphene, a performance-enhancing substance, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Impact Severino was signed in November to back up Omar Narvaez behind the plate, but he'll now be ineligible to play until July 3, barring an appeal of the suspension. Mario Feliciano and Brett Sullivan are the other catchers on Milwaukee's 40-man roster, but they have a single MLB plate appearance between them, so it's possible the team will look to bring in outside help at the position.
