Huascar Brazoban - Quick return to majors The Mets recalled Brazoban from Triple-A Syracuse on Sunday.
Impact The right-hander was optioned to Syracuse on Friday, but he'll rejoin the Mets just a couple days later since Paul Blackburn (hand) was placed on the injured list. Brazoban has a 3.76 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 44:18 K:BB across 40.2 innings between the Mets and Marlins this season.

Paul Blackburn - Placed on injured list The Mets placed Blackburn on the 15-day injured list Sunday, retroactive to Aug. 24, due to a right hand contusion.
Impact The right-hander suffered the injury during his start against the Padres on Friday, but he appeared set to avoid a stint on the injured list after a CT scan came back negative Saturday. However, Blackburn experienced some stiffness and soreness when he attempted to throw Sunday, per Tim Healey of Newsday, and the Mets are hoping he can return after a minimum-length stay on the IL. Tylor Megill is the likely candidate to fill Blackburn's spot in the starting rotation.

Francisco Lindor - Stays hot with two homers Lindor went 2-for-5 with two homers and five RBI in Saturday's win over the Padres.
Impact Lindor jumped on a hanging sweeper from Michael King with two outs in the top of the fourth and sent it into the stands for a grand slam, putting the Mets up 5-0. The shortstop wasn't done there, however, launching another home run off Yuki Matsui to lead off the seventh to give him his fifth long ball this month. It was Lindor's fourth multi-home run game of the campaign while his five RBI on the night marked a season high. He's already recorded 12 multi-hit performances this month, including five over his last eight games.

David Peterson - Strong in eighth win Peterson (8-1) picked up the win over the Padres on Saturday, allowing one run on five hits and two walks over 7.1 innings while striking out two.
Impact Peterson surrendered just one hit through the first four innings before allowing three of the first four batters to reach in the fifth, leading to one run coming home for San Diego. He was later relieved by Dedniel Nunez with one out in the seventh, marking the second consecutive start in which he's been able to get through at least seven innings. Peterson has also logged quality starts in three straight and in four of his five outings this month. On the downside, his two strikeouts Saturday marked his lowest total in that category since July 1 against the Nationals and he's now issued multiple walks in seven of his last nine starts.
