J.T. Ginn - Making first MLB start Thursday Ginn is scheduled to start Thursday's game against the Reds in Cincinnati, Jessica Kleinschmidt of the Oakland Athletics Radio Network reports. Impact After being called up from Triple-A Las Vegas on Aug. 20, Ginn made his first two appearances for Oakland out of the bullpen, striking out four batters over 3.2 innings while giving up one run on one hit and three walks. With the Athletics well out of the mix for playoff contention heading into the final month of the season, Ginn could end up being part of a six-man rotation, though the club will likely wait and see how he fares in his first MLB start Thursday before determining how he'll be used moving forward. Prior to his call-up last week, Ginn turned in a 5.72 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 69:30 K:BB over 72.1 innings across 15 outings (14 starts) with Las Vegas in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League.
