Drew Pomeranz - Shut down from throwing program Pomeranz (neck) has been shut down after experiencing discomfort in his throwing arm during his latest rehab appearance, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Impact The veteran southpaw gave up three earned runs while recording one out in his most recent rehab appearance with Triple-A El Paso, likely suffering the injury during that appearance. Pomeranz was returning from flexor tendon surgery when a neck strain delayed his rehab in early April, and now his arm has started barking again. He should be considered out indefinitely.

Brandon Dixon - Up as 27th man Dixon was recalled to serve as the 27th man for the two-game series in Mexico City against the Giants.

Impact Dixon, who can play all four corner spots, will be up as a depth option for these two games at altitude in Mexico. The 31-year-old is slashing .364/.463/.773 with five home runs and three steals in 12 games in the Pacific Coast League.
