Adrian Morejon - Slated for bullpen session Morejon (elbow) is expected to toss a bullpen session in Chicago on Tuesday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact The bullpen session, if it takes place as scheduled, will mark Morejon's first time on a mound since leaving a spring training game due to left arm discomfort in mid-March. The southpaw underwent a subsequent MRI that came back negative, but he was nonetheless placed on the 60-day IL prior to Opening Day. Morejon isn't eligible to come off the injured list until late May.

Luis Campusano - Not yet playing catch Campusano's injured left thumb is still in a soft cast, and it isn't known when the backstop will resume playing catch, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Campusano landed on the 10-day injured list April 17 as a result of spraining his thumb while catching a bullpen session. Though X-rays came back negative, the Padres are being cautious and waiting until the thumb is close to 100 percent before allowing Campusano to resume catching, according to manager Bob Melvin. Campusano is eligible to come off the IL on April 27, but it appears unlikely that he'll be ready to return by then.

Nabil Crismatt - Further evaluation coming Crismatt received a cortisone injection in his left hip this weekend and is set to be evaluated in a few days, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Crismatt went on the 15-day IL on April 19 due a left hip strain after struggling in his first 10 innings this season, posting a 10.80 ERA and 2.20 WHIP. The righty reliever was much better in 2022, recording a 2.94 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 65:22 K:BB across 67.1 frames. The results of his upcoming evaluation will determine his next steps toward a return.

Impact Pomeranz has appeared in two games with Single-A Lake Elsinore thus far, hurling two perfect innings and notching one strikeout. It appears the veteran hurler could be ready to join the Padres' bullpen after one more rehab outing, which would be a much-needed boost to a relief corps that is currently without Robert Suarez (elbow) and fellow lefty Adrian Morejon (elbow), among others. Pomeranz hasn't pitched in a big-league game since August of 2021, so he may be used in lower-leverage situations initially.
