Mike Clevinger - Handed tough-luck loss Clevinger (2-3) took the loss during Sunday's 3-1 defeat at the hands of the Diamondbacks, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with eight strikeouts in six innings.
Impact Clevinger was the first to flinch in what was a pitcher's duel with Arizona starter Merrill Kelly, surrendering a solo shot to David Peralta in the sixth that proved enough to saddle him with a third straight loss. Despite the defeat, the 31-year-old struck out a season-high eight batters with an impressive 16 swinging strikes and delivered only his second quality start in nine turns. Clevinger concludes an injury-plagued first half with a 3.50 ERA and 1.14 WHIP with 48 strikeouts in 46.1 innings across nine starts and 10 appearances.

Considering Ruiz swiped 60 bags between stops at Triple-A and Double-A San Antonio prior to his call-up, he may be worth a flier for fantasy managers in deeper mixed leagues looking to add some speed to their rosters.

Impact Myers has collected at least one hit in each of his four games thus far and has homered in each of his last two. The veteran has played center field in one of the contests and has been the designated hitter in the other three. Myers is expected to start at DH for the Storm again Sunday, and he could rejoin the Padres upon the conclusion of the All-Star break.

Tim Hill - Picks up sixth hold Saturday Hill earned a hold against Arizona on Saturday, allowing two hits and no walks in one scoreless inning.
Impact Hill was called upon in the eighth inning as the bridge to closer Taylor Rogers with San Diego nursing a one-run lead. He made things interesting by giving up consecutive one-out singles, but the southpaw was able to get out of danger by inducing an inning-ending double play. Hill picked up five holds across his first 10 outings of the season, but this was his first since May 23 -- a span of 19 games. His strikeout rate has been cut exactly in half to 11.0 percent after he posted a 22.0 percent rate in 2021, and he's posted a 4.15 ERA and 1.31 WHIP over 26 innings overall this season.

Eguy Rosario - Hot bat for month-plus Rosario has hit .357/.442/.760 -- good for a 1.201 OPS -- with 11 home runs, five steals and a 20:24 BB:K across his last 33 games for Triple-A El Paso.
Impact Thanks to a frigid start to the season (.632 OPS in his first 51 games), Rosario's 2022 batting line still sits at a good-not-great .275/.366/.492, but it's clear that a light has come on for him over the past month-plus. He's seemingly on the doorstep of the majors, but it's hard to see where the Padres have room to play him. Rosario has played second, third and shortstop in the minors this year, but he's best suited for third, as he's been far too error-prone up the middle to play there consistently in the big leagues. Unfortunately, he's blocked at third by Manny Machado, so there's a chance that Rosario could be used as trade bait at this year's deadline.

Impact Kim has hit safely in five straight games since he returned from a thumb injury. In that span, he's gone 7-for-20 (.350) with three doubles, four RBI, two runs scored and a steal. The shortstop owns a .243/.330/.364 slash line with five home runs, five steals, 31 RBI, 35 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples in 83 contests overall. Kim's starting role at shortstop will likely be safe to begin the second half of the campaign, but he could see reduced playing time once Fernando Tatis (wrist) is ready to make his season debut.
