Nick Martinez - Struck by comebacker Martinez was removed from Tuesday's loss to the Rockies after being struck in the right foot by a line drive, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
Impact Martinez allowed an unearned run on one hit with a strikeout and zero walks over one inning before being struck with the comebacker during the seventh inning. The right-hander should be considered day-to-day since the specifics of the injury remain unclear.

Esteury Ruiz - Two hits in debut Ruiz went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Rockies. He was also caught stealing once.
Impact Ruiz hit a single in his first major-league at-bat. He added an RBI single in the eighth inning, but he was caught attempting to steal third to end the frame. The 23-year-old will likely be a huge speed asset when in the lineup -- he's logged 60 stolen bases in 77 games between Double-A and Triple-A action this season. He figures to get a chance to challenge for playing time primarily in left field with Jurickson Profar (concussion) out, though Ruiz started in center field in his big-league debut Tuesday to give Trent Grisham a partial day off.

Ha-Seong Kim - Two doubles in return Kim (thumb) went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and an RBI in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Rockies.
Impact Kim missed the last two games with a nagging thumb injury. He was the only Padre to record any extra-base hits in this contest, including his RBI double to open the scoring in the second inning. The shortstop has posted multiple hits in four of his nine games in July, going 9-for-24 (.375). He's slashing .239/.330/.364 with five home runs, 28 RBI, 33 runs scored, four stolen bases and 14 doubles through 79 contests overall.

Mike Clevinger - Loses to Rockies on Tuesday Clevinger (2-2) allowed four runs on five hits, a walk and a hit batter while striking out four over 5.1 innings as he took the loss versus the Rockies on Tuesday.
Impact Clevinger allowed just one hit through the first four innings, but the Rockies got to him for a run in the fifth before Charlie Blackmon swatted a three-run home run in the sixth. Both of Clevinger's losses this season have come in his last two starts, and they're also the only outings in which he's allowed four runs. The right-hander is at a 3.79 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 40:13 K:BB through 40.1 innings in nine appearances (eight starts). He'll take those numbers into the second half of the campaign, as the Padres' six-man rotation makes it unlikely Clevinger will start again before the All-Star break.

Jurickson Profar - Expected back this week Profar (concussion) is doing baseball activities and could return to action this week, the Associated Press reports.
Impact Profar was placed on the concussion injured list last Friday following a scary collision with teammate CJ Abrams the previous day. Profar is required to be out seven days, so he could be activated as soon as this Friday for the series opener versus Arizona. The veteran had gone 4-for-22 with two doubles over six games in July prior to the injury.
