Impact Haniger will likely require several games with Sacramento to get his timing back on the plate, given that he's been sidelined since mid-June after requiring a surgery to address a fractured right forearm. He was cleared to resume baseball activities in late July and began taking batting practice more than a week and a half ago, suffering no setbacks along the way. Once he completes his rehab stint at Sacramento and returns from the 60-day injured list, Haniger should reclaim a near-everyday role in the San Francisco lineup at a corner-outfield spot or designated hitter.

John Brebbia - Cleared for rehab outing Brebbia (lat) will begin a rehab assignment Tuesday in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Impact After completing a throwing progression, Brebbia has been deemed ready for his first game action since mid-June, when he was placed on the injured list with a right lat strain. Since the Giants aren't expected to deploy Brebbia has anything more than a one- or two-inning reliever or opening pitcher once he's activated from the 60-day IL, the right-hander isn't expected to require the full 30-day rehab window to prepare himself for a return to the big leagues. Brebbia notched two wins and six holds while pitching to a 3.14 ERA and 1.08 WHIP in 28.2 innings over 29 appearances with the Giants prior to landing on the IL.

Impact After opting out of his minor-league deal with the Rangers in late June, Tsutsugo sat on the open market for nearly two months before finding work with the Giants. Due to the long layoff, Tsutsugo could first report to the Giants' spring training facility in Arizona before likely settling at Triple-A Sacramento, where he'll hope to perform well enough to make a case for a late-season promotion to the Giants. Impact Beck ultimately functioned as the bulk reliever following shorter appearances from Jakob Junis and Alex Wood over the first three innings. Over six outings in August, Beck has allowed eight runs, 16 hits and three walks while striking out 13 over 14.1 innings. He'll continue to be in the mix for multi-inning assignments out of the bullpen, but it seems unlikely he'll start often down the stretch. Jakob Junis - Struggles as opener Junis allowed two unearned runs on two hits and struck out one without walking a batter over 1.2 innings Sunday versus Atlanta. He did not factor in the decision.
Impact Junis was responsible for Orlando Arcia's second-inning two-run home run, but Wilmer Flores quickly got Junis off the hook in the third. This was a 43-pitch outing for the right-hander, which came after he threw 62 pitches Tuesday. While he's been in the mix to serve as an opener or bulk reliever, Junis is unlikely to work deep enough into games to get wins when he's starting.
