Andrés Muñoz - Timeline hazy Munoz (shoulder) does not appear on track to start his rehab assignment this weekend as originally planned, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Impact Manager Scott Servais said Saturday that there are no updates on Munoz's status, but he was supposed to start throwing this week before beginning a rehab assignment with Triple-A Tacoma this weekend, and he hasn't pitched yet. Servais not having an update suggests Munoz is not ready for his rehab assignment, but the whole situation is a little hazy right now due to lack of information. Paul Sewald has allowed a run in back-to-back successful save chances and has a 3.46 ERA, 0.85 WHIP, 17 strikeouts and seven saves in 13 innings.

Trevor Gott - Takes loss Friday Gott (0-1) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Friday, allowing an earned run on two hits and a hit batsman over one inning. He struck out one.

Impact The veteran right-hander saw a streak of four appearances without allowing an earned run snapped when he surrendered a go-ahead single to George Springer in the sixth inning that would prove to be the difference in the game. Friday's stumble notwithstanding, Gott has been a relatively effective asset out of the bullpen in his first Mariners season, posting five holds alongside a 2.57 ERA and 1.07 WHIP across 14 innings over 13 appearances.

Impact Rodriguez's recent funk atop the Mariners lineup has been one of several reasons for the team's recent sub-par play, but the 22-year-old phenom offered a spark Friday with his first multi-hit effort since April 19. Impact Chris Flexen had been listed as the probable starter for Seattle, but McGee will instead get the call against a dangerous Blue Jays lineup. The 25-year-old right-hander was sporting a 3.14 ERA and 24:9 K:BB through 28.2 innings (five starts) this season at the Triple-A level. He's an iffy fantasy bet in the afternoon matchup at Rogers Centre, but there could be more favorable assignments ahead if he sticks around in Flexen's rotation spot.

Impact Castillo has a lengthy track record of being an effective major-league reliever, but he'll spend some time on the farm after allowing six earned runs on seven hits and seven walks through his first 8.2 innings this season out of the Mariners' bullpen. Easton McGee is up in a corresponding move to start Saturday's game in Toronto.

Impact The catcher took Alek Manoah deep for a solo shot in the second inning before adding an RBI single in the third. Raleigh hasn't quite found his power stroke yet in 2023, producing a .205 ISO through 87 plate appearances after posting a .278 mark last season, but he's maintained a decent fantasy floor by batting .231 with three homers, 11 runs and 14 RBI in 22 games.

Luis Castillo - Season low in Ks against Jays Castillo didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Blue Jays, giving up two runs on six hits and two walks over five innings. He struck out four.

Impact For the second straight start, Castillo didn't pitch into the sixth inning, and this time he came away with a season low in strikeouts, managing only 18 called or swinging strikes in 95 pitches -- a far cry from his 28.9 percent CSW rate on the year. The right-hander also served up his first homer of 2023, a second-inning solo shot by Alejandro Kirk. Despite what was for him a relatively mediocre outing, Castillo still sports a 1.82 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 38:8 K:BB through 34.2 innings, and he'll look to regain some dominance in his next start, likely to come in Oakland next week.
