Diego Castillo - Earns win despite blown lead Castillo (5-5) got the win over the Athletics on Wednesday but allowed one run on one hit while striking out two over an inning. Impact Castillo entered to pitch the top of the seventh with the Mariners clinging on to a 2-1 lead. He retired the first two batters he faced but then missed his location on a slider to Seth Brown, who connected on the pitch and sent it over the wall in right to tie the game. Fortunately, the Mariners were able to manufacture a run in the bottom half of the frame and held on until the end to award Castillo the win. The flame-throwing 27-year-old now has three wins, six holds and a save in 13 appearances this month and has settled in nicely in a setup role in front of Paul Sewald and Drew Steckenrider. Castillo has been very solid again this year, as he has a 2.81 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 73:17 K:BB over 57.2 innings.
