Impact Munoz allowed a runner he inherited from Gregory Santos to score on a wild pitch in the eighth inning. In the ninth, Munoz was sharp to finish off his 17th save of the campaign. This was the second outing in a row in which he allowed an inherited runner to score, but he has not been charged with a run over his last 9.1 innings despite a modest 8:5 K:BB in that span. For the season, Munoz has a 1.31 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 51:18 K:BB through 41.1 innings.

Impact The Mariners offense snapped out of its extended slumber in a big way Friday, and Robles put a bow on a memorable eight-run first inning with his 411-foot solo shot to left field. The veteran seems to have settled into an everyday role in center field for the time being with Julio Rodriguez (ankle) sidelined for multiple weeks, and Friday marked Robles' first time leading off. He'd mostly been slotting into the No. 2 hole in the order as well of late, and there's no reason to think he won't continue working out of favorable slotting given how successful he's been at the plate (.364 average, 1.008 OPS with Seattle).

Mitch Garver - On base five times in rout Garver went 3-for-3 with two walks, a double, a run scored and an RBI in Friday's 10-0 win over the White Sox.

Impact Making his first start at catcher since July 20, Garver had a perfect day at the plate and did pretty well behind it too, guiding George Kirby and the Seattle bullpen to a combined shutout. Garver had been stuck in a 2-for-29 slump in his last eight games heading into Friday, but he remains the only backup option to Cal Raleigh and is part of the mix at designated hitter despite a career-low .649 OPS on the season, so for now he has a stable floor for playing time. Once Randy Arozarena has joined the team and Julio Rodriguez (ankle) is back in action however, competition for those DH at-bats could be fierce.

George Kirby - Shuts down ChiSox for eight win Kirby (8-7) picked up the win in Friday's 10-0 rout of the White Sox, scattering six hits and a walk over seven scoreless innings. He struck out seven.

Impact Seattle's offense staked Kirby to an 8-0 lead before he even took the mound for the bottom of the first inning, but the right-hander didn't take it easy on the opposition. Chicago never got a runner past second base against Kirby as he fired 60 of his 88 pitches for strikes before exiting. He's been incredibly consistent for the M's -- he hasn't given up more than three runs in an outing since May 24, and he's lasted at least six innings in nine straight starts, posting a 1.73 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 55:7 K:BB in 57.1 innings over that stretch. Kirby is scheduled to make his next trip to the mound on the road next week in Boston.
