Andrew Knizner - Productive in win Knizner went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a walk in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Reds.

Impact Knizner has recorded multiple hits in two of his six games this season. The 27-year-old catcher opened the scoring with an RBI single in the second inning. He also scored on a Paul Goldschmidt double in the sixth inning after getting aboard with a double of his own. Knizner has started consecutive games as Yadier Molina continues to deal with some general soreness. Knizner owns a .318/.375/.545 slash line with six RBI, two runs scored, a home run and a pair of doubles through 24 plate appearances this season.

Lars Nootbaar - Notches steal in win Nootbaar went 1-for-5 with a stolen base and a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's 5-0 win over the Reds.

Impact Nootbaar had seen little opportunity to play early in the season, but he's spelled each of Dylan Carlson, Harrison Bader and Tyler O'Neill once in the last four games. Through 19 plate appearances, Nootbaar hasn't made much of his limited playing time. He's 2-for-16 with one RBI, three runs scored, a stolen base and 3:9 K:BB. The 24-year-old will likely continue to serve as a fourth outfielder for the Cardinals.

Impact He helped manufacture runs in multiple innings. After a successful theft his first time on base, Bader decided to take second and third when he reached a second time. The outfielder has gone six games without an extra-base hit and has a .195/.298/.268 slash line early on, so expect to have to sacrifice in the other hitting categories if you want to chase these steals.

Dakota Hudson - Shuts down Reds for first win Hudson (1-1) earned the win over the Reds on Saturday, allowing two hits and four walks over 6.2 scoreless innings. He struck out four.

Impact The Reds are a mess, offensively, and Hudson made his layup in this one. His 4:4 K:BB doesn't look great, however, and 6.2 scoreless innings won't eliminate performance concerns with Hudson. He had a 7.71 ERA coming into Saturday's game and some troubling batted-ball data to go along with it. The right-hander is looking to re-establish himself after missing nearly all of last season following 2020 Tommy John surgery.

He'll need to keep making progress to avoid losing the leadoff spot to Tommy Edman, who is batting .341 to start the year.
