Nolan Arenado - Hits two-run shot Arenado went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's loss against Pittsburgh.

Impact Arenado has recorded hits in each of his first three games of the season and has multiple RBIs -- as well as recording at least one extra-base hit -- in each of those contests. Through three games this season, Arenado is hitting .500 with an unsustainable 1.788 OPS, as well as racking up two homers, seven RBI, three doubles and four runs scored. It's also worth noting that five of his six hits have gone for extra bases.

Five of those runs came in the third inning -- the frame in which the blister reportedly developed -- with two more scoring in the fourth before he was able to record an out. The rough season debut followed a shaky spring in which he stumbled to a 5.23 ERA in three starts, but the Cardinals are seemingly considering all of his struggles Sunday to be blister-related and aren't worried about him long-term. He's expected to take his next turn in the rotation, which lines up to come Friday in Milwaukee.

Impact Dickerson will take a seat for the second time in the four-game series after going 1-for-8 with an RBI between starts Friday and Saturday. He still appears locked in as the Cardinals' primary designated hitter, as the lefty-hitting Dickerson is expected to be the team's main option against right-handed pitching, while the lefty-hitting Albert Pujols picks up starts versus lefties. Impact Nootbaar broke camp as the Cardinals' fourth outfielder, but he went unused off the bench for the first three games of the series with St. Louis went with an outfield of Tyler O'Neill, Harrison Bader and Dylan Carlson from left to right. Impact Whitley finished the fourth inning after starter Miles Mikolas' pitch count ran up to 77 through 3.2 innings. Whitley also pitched the fifth, and the Cardinals' bullpen was able to maintain the lead to make him the pitcher of record. The right-hander impressed in limited action with a 2.49 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB in 25.1 innings last season.
