Impact Siri has just one hit and a walk in his last 15 plate appearances. The centerfielder will get to reset on the bench with Jonny DeLuca starting in his spot and batting seventh.

Yandy Díaz - Idle Thursday Diaz isn't in the Rays' lineup Thursday versus the Royals.

Impact Diaz is getting an off day Thursday after going 1-for-9 in the first two games of the series versus the Royals. This is the first baseman's first absence from the lineup since May 25. Isaac Paredes will shift over from third to first and Jose Caballero will enter the lineup at third in the ninth spot.

Ryan Pepiot - Lasts just four innings Wednesday Pepiot (4-5) took the loss Wednesday against the Royals, allowing two runs on four hits and three walks in four innings. He did not strike out a batter.

Impact Pepiot made it through the first two innings unscathed, but the Royals got to him for two runs in the third on a couple of hits. He made quick work in the fourth but was replaced after throwing 87 pitches. The Rays offense mustered up just two runs, leaving Pepiot in line for the loss. His last win came back on June 4 against Miami. Pepiot also has never had less than two strikeouts, starting or relieving in any MLB game before having zero Wednesday. It was another short start for the 26-year-old, who hasn't reached six innings in each of his last four starts. Pepiot will take a 4.40 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 83:28 K:BB (75.2 IP) into a start against the Yankees next week.

Isaac Paredes - Launches homer in loss Paredes went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and two walks in Wednesday's 4-2 loss to the Royals.

Impact Paredes took Michael Wacha deep in the opening frame for an early 1-0 lead. He and Amed Rosario were the only Rays to get on base multiple times in the game after Paredes drew multiple walks for the first time since May 17. He's now racked up five extra-base hits, reached base a total of eight times and driven in four runs over his last three games. Paredes is enjoying another productive campaign after breaking out last year, slashing .276/.365/.481 with 14 homers, 46 RBI, 33 runs and a 35:57 BB:K in 342 plate appearances.

Shane Baz - Taking Civale's spot in rotation Baz will be recalled from Triple-A Durham to take Aaron Civale's spot in the Rays' rotation, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Impact Prior to being traded to the Brewers, Civale's next turn was slated to be Friday in Texas. It's not clear whether Baz will start that day or another, but his return to the big leagues is imminent. Baz struggled in May at Durham with a 7.71 ERA and 9:13 K:BB over 16.1 innings, but he rebounded in June, collecting a 1.57 ERA and 35:10 K:BB across 23 frames. The Rays could be careful with his workload in his first season back from Tommy John surgery, but Baz should be rostered in all fantasy formats.
