Gaining strength Calhoun (forearm) is slowly gaining strength but is not ready to resume play on the field, Arianna Vedia of the Dallas Morning News reports. Impact Calhoun took batting practice Wednesday and is in good shape, but his left wrist is about 70 percent. "At this point, we are where we are, we can't add games to the end of the season. So, however many games he does play or however many at-bats he does get, we've got to evaluate him based off of that," Rangers manager Chris Woodward said. "That might not be fair, but it is what it is." The Rangers are hopeful he can a couple of weeks worth of plate appearances to see where he's at. The team has filtered in outfield prospects throughout the season, and at this point, Calhoun may have to win a roster spot during spring training 2022.
