Return further off than Durant's Head coach Steve Nash confirmed Wednesday that Simmons (conditioning) remains without a definitive date for making his Nets debut, though the coach said that Kevin Durant (knee) is... Impact Nash's comments one day after general manager Sean Marks said that he didn't expect either Durant or Simmons to be back in action for at least the "next three or four days," according to Brian Lewis of the New York Post. With that in mind, both players can probably be ruled out for at least the Nets' first two games out of the All-Star break Thursday versus the Celtics and Saturday in Milwaukee, and at least Simmons looks like a good bet to miss additional time beyond that. Simmons began working out with the Nets shortly before the break following his Feb. 10 acquisition from the 76ers, but because he hadn't practiced at any point since the start of the regular season, he'll need extensive ramp-up time despite not recovering from any injury. A more definitive target date for his Brooklyn debut could become more clear next week.
