Won't make Nets debut Thursday Dragic (conditioning) will not make his Nets debut Thursday against Boston, Alex Schiffer of The Athletic reports.

Impact The veteran guard just joined the Nets earlier in the week and hasn't appeared in an NBA game since mid-November, so he'll need some time to work his way into shape before returning to game action. Coach Steve Nash -- a former teammate of Dragic's in Phoenix -- said he "doesn't think it will be long" until Dragic debuts, so the 35-year-old should be considered day-to-day.

'No clarity' on return date Head coach Steve Nash said Wednesday that he has "no clarity" on when Durant (knee) will return to game action, Nick Friedell of ESPN.com reports.

Impact The non-update doesn't come as much of a surprise, as reports earlier this month than Durant would remain out beyond the All-Star break. The superstar was present at Wednesday's practice, but he appeared to be limited to only non-contact shooting work, per Friedell. For now, the Nets will likely handle Durant's status on a week-to-week basis with the hope that he'll be able to return at some point in early-to-mid-March.

Impact It's important to note that there's no firm timetable on the mandate being lifted, though Billy Reinhardt of NetsDaily.com speculates that the vaccine requirement could be removed by March 15 at the latest. Whatever the case, the news is nonetheless a major development for Irving and the Nets with the postseason set to begin in roughly eight weeks. Given that timeline, there's a good chance Irving will remain a partial participant for most of the balance of the regular season, so for his managers in redraft leagues, his outlook may not change dramatically. While the mandate tentatively remains in place, Irving is eligible to play in only eight of the Nets' remaining 23 regular-season contests.

Second surgery still possible The Nets will evaluate Harris this week before deciding whether or not he may require a second surgery on his left ankle, Michael Scotto of HoopsHype.com reports.

Impact Earlier this month, Harris' agent, Mark Bartelstein, indicated that a second surgery may be necessary for the 30-year-old wing, and it appears that's still very much a possibility. Coming out of the All-Star break, the Nets will use the next several days to evaluate Harris, after which the two sides will come together on a decision. If another surgery is deemed necessary, it's likely that Harris would be shelved for at least the remainder of the regular season. The Virginia product hasn't played since Nov. 14 at Oklahoma City.

The fact that Shelburne is describing Simmons' debut as being "weeks" away indicates that he'll miss additional time beyond Thursday, so managers shouldn't rush to activate him until a clearer target date for his debut comes into focus.
