Impact Simmons hasn't practiced since first experiencing back soreness a week and a half ago and is likely several more games away from making his team debut, but Nash believes that having the 25-year-old on the bench in what is expected to be a hostile atmosphere in Philadelphia will help him get one potential psychological hurdle out of the way despite not actually playing. The Nets aren't scheduled to practice again until Saturday, and though Simmons hasn't been ruled out from participating in that session in some capacity, Nash noted that Simmons won't immediately go into 5-on-5 drills. Instead, Simmons is expected to ramp up gradually for full-contact, full-court work while he looks to move past the back injury and regain conditioning after having not played all season.

The Nets will presumably evaluate Thomas during the afternoon before making a call on his status shortly before the game's 7 p.m. ET tipoff.

Impact According to Brian Lewis of the New York Post, Aldridge is scheduled to undergo an MRI while he's back in New York, even though initial scans on his hip didn't reveal any structural damage. For the time being, Aldridge's injury is being characterized as an impingement of his right hip, the same one for which he required an arthroscopic procedure earlier in his career during his time in Portland. The Nets are likely to provide an update on Aldridge following the road trip, but for at least the next two games, Andre Drummond and Nicolas Claxton are expected to cover most of the minutes at center.

Impact Duke recorded three points (1-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 1-1 FT), two assists and two steals across 11 minutes before he exited in the first half after a hard fall to the floor on a dunk attempt. He'll presumably rejoin Brooklyn in the coming days to undergo further tests on his ankle, which should give the team a better sense of how long he'll be sidelined.
