Out Wednesday, could miss more time Hayward is listed as out for Wednesday's contest against the Bulls. Impact Hayward sprained his left ankle early in Monday's 116-101 loss to the Raptors and was quickly ruled out from returning to the contest. The Hornets haven't disclosed the extent of Hayward's sprain, but Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer relays that the team is preparing for the veteran forward to be "out for a while." Charlotte will likely continue to take a game-by-game approach with Hayward's status, but fantasy managers shouldn't count on him to return for either of the team's remaining two games this week. With Jalen McDaniels (ankle) and Cody Martin (Achilles) also sidelined Wednesday, the Hornets could play Miles Bridges more at small forward, opening up more minutes in the frontcourt for the likes of P.J. Washington, Mason Plumlee and Nick Richards. Kelly Oubre should also benefit from a playing-time and usage standpoint while Hayward is out.
