Prior to entering the protocols, Hernangomez was already starting to see a declining with role with top center Jonas Valanciunas recently overcoming an illness, and Hernangomez could see his minutes reduced even further if head coach Willie Green elects to deploy Jaxson Hayes as the top backup at both frontcourt spots.

CJ McCollum - Drops 36 in second game with Pels McCollum had 36 points (15-24 FG, 3-7 3Pt, 3-3 FT), 11 rebounds and five assists across 36 minutes during Saturday's 124-114 loss to the Spurs.
Impact While McCollum was responsible for six of New Orleans' 15 turnovers, he carried the team offensively with his highest-scoring game of the entire season. McCollum's 11 boards also established a new season high, as did his 15 made field goals. The trade deadline acquisition is off to a solid start for the Pelicans, though they're 0-2 since adding him. New Orleans plays three times in Week 18, beginning with a matchup against the Raptors on Monday on the front end of a back-to-back.

Herbert Jones - Hits two threes in loss Jones had 13 points (3-5 FG, 2-3 3Pt, 5-5 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one block and two steals across 39 minutes during Saturday's 124-114 loss to San Antonio.
Impact Jones' stat lines rarely jump off the page, but he's been a top-five fantasy rookie for much of the season thanks to his defensive contributions paired with a consistently heavy workload. The Alabama product is locked into a starting spot on the wing, and the departure of Josh Hart at the trade deadline should only solidify Jones' role.

Jaxson Hayes - Ineffective in 20 minutes Hayes closed with four points (2-4 FG, 0-1 3Pt) and one rebound across 20 minutes during Saturday's 124-114 loss to San Antonio.
Impact Hayes had a nice run as a fill-in starter earlier in the month, but he's combined for just eight points, two rebounds and no defensive stats over his last two games (37 total minutes). With the Pelicans apparently shifting toward pushing for a playoff spot, Hayes' opportunities could be somewhat limited going forward. The 2019 lottery pick still has some appeal long term, but it's a bit concerning that he's more than two-and-a-half years into his career and the Pelicans are yet to view him as a starting-caliber option.

Devonte' Graham - Goes scoreless in 21 minutes Graham recorded zero points (0-6 FG, 0-4 3Pt), two rebounds and five assists in 20 minutes during Saturday's 124-114 loss to the Spurs.
Impact It was another ugly performance for Graham, who's now scored fewer than 10 points in five of his last six appearances. During that stretch, he's shooting a ghastly 27.6 percent from the field with the majority of his attempts coming from three-point range. Graham was so ineffective Saturday that coach Willie Green benched him for much of the second half, opting to instead ride with new addition CJ McCollum as well as Jose Alvarado. The Pelicans are one of only a handful of teams to play three more times before the break, so Graham will look to bounce back Monday against Toronto before facing Memphis (Tuesday) and Dallas (Thursday).
