Appears to have sprained MCL Coach Zac Taylor said Monday that Uzomah appears to have suffered a sprained MCL during Sunday's AFC Championship Game against Kansas City, Ben Baby of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Uzomah was unable to return to Sunday's matchup after sustaining a left knee injury in the first quarter. Although Taylor called the early diagnosis "encouraging," it's not yet clear whether the tight end will be available for the Super Bowl on Sunday, Feb. 13. If Uzomah is unable to suit up against the Rams, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox should handle increased workloads for Cincinnati.

Impact Uzomah tied for the team lead in receptions and finished third in receiving yards. Impact Uzomah came through with big fantasy production even against a Raiders defense with an imposing edge rush, proving he can post numbers even when he might otherwise seem at risk of an increased blocking assignment. Uzomah is a big, athletic player in one of the league's most productive passing games, so he should continue to have games like this on occasion, particularly when one of Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins sees a lag in his production. Higgins was unusually quiet in this one (one 10-yard catch on four targets), affording more room for Uzomah to draw targets.
