Nick Niemann - Comes off IR The Chargers activated Niemann (hamstring) off injured reserve Saturday.
Impact Niemann has yet to play a game this season, as he landed on IR in late August due to a hamstring issue. He was designated to return Oct. 2 and logged a trio of full practices this week to set himself up for activation. Niemann still carries a designation of questionable into Sunday's contest versus Denver, and if he plays it likely be in a rotational role.

Asante Samuel Jr. - Moves to injured reserve Samuel (shoulder) was placed on IR on Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Samuel hurt his shoulder prior to the Chargers' season opener but was able to start each of the team's first four games. However, the Week 5 bye didn't help Samuel overcome the issue, and his placement on IR means he'll need to miss at least Los Angeles' next four contests. Cam Hart will likely take Samuel's spot in the starting lineup at cornerback.

Gus Edwards - Lands on IR Edwards (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Saturday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Impact Edwards' workload had tailed off in Weeks 3 and 4 recording nine carries for 28 yards in the two prior weeks before the bye. J.K. Dobbins has been a revelation as the team's preferred starting running back, but with Edwards out it's possible rookie sixth-round pick Kimani Vidal could see his first significant action at the NFL level.

Kristian Fulton - Gets questionable designation Fulton (knee) is questionable for Sunday's outing against Denver.
Impact Fulton looked like he'd be healthy after practicing in full on Thursday and Friday, but he now has a questionable tag ahead of the Chargers' bye week return. The 5-foot-11 cornerback hasn't missed a game yet this year, with 15 tackles (11 solo), three passes defended and one interception.

Deane Leonard - Questionable ahead of Sunday Leonard (hamstring) is questionable for Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.
Impact Leonard hasn't played since Week 3, but he could finally see his return as the Chargers travel to Denver. The 6-foot cornerback likely won't play much defense if he's active, as he's served most of his field time on special teams when he's been healthy this year.

Joey Bosa - Questionable for Sunday Bosa (hip) logged a limited practice Friday and is questionable for Los Angeles' Week 6 matchup against Denver.
Impact Bosa hurt his hip in Week 3, and he hasn't returned to the field since with nine tackles (seven solo) and two sacks to his name so far. A switch from DNP's to a limited practice now on Friday looks promising now for the star pass rusher, but his true status will be revealed prior to kickoff in Denver.

Asante Samuel Jr. - Out versus Broncos Samuel (shoulder) is out for Sunday's outing against Denver.
Impact Samuel has had a lingering shoulder injury since the beginning of September, but he'll now miss his first game of the season due to it. The 2021 second-round pick has 13 tackles (11 solo) so far this season, and his next chance to play will be Oct. 21 against Arizona.

Ja'Sir Taylor - Remains out in Week 6 Taylor (leg) has been ruled out ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Broncos.
Impact The Chargers' Week 5 bye gave Taylor additional time to recover after missing the team's Week 4 loss to the Chiefs with a leg injury. However, the third-year pro was still unable to practice all week and is now in line to miss his second consecutive game Sunday. Expect Cam Hart to see increased work in the Chargers' secondary in Taylor's stead.

Justin Herbert - Good to go Sunday Herbert (ankle) practiced fully Friday and doesn't carry an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Impact After turning in back-to-back limited sessions Wednesday and Thursday, Herbert's full participation Friday paves the way for him to start against Denver this weekend. The QB has been managing an ankle injury of late, but Herbert no doubt benefited from the Chargers' Week 5 bye, and should be closer to 100 percent ahead of Week 6 action.

Gus Edwards - Won't play Sunday Edwards (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Impact With Edwards out versus Denver, Hassan Haskins and Kimani Vidal are candidates to see added complementary snaps this weekend behind top RB J.K. Dobbins. Edwards will thus target a potential return to action Oct. 21 against the Cardinals.

Impact Fulton sat out Wednesday's practice due to a knee injury, but the issue appears to have been minor. The cornerback's return to a full practice Thursday suggests that he's in no danger of missing Sunday's Week 6 clash against the Broncos. Fulton has logged 100 percent of the Chargers' defensive snaps in all but one of the team's four contests so far this season.

Impact Dicker missed Wednesday's practice due to an illness, but he was able to return to a full session one day later.
