Impact Alie-Cox couldn't follow up his two-touchdown outing in Week 4 with another score, but he at least caught three passes for the second straight game while posting his highest yardage total this season. The fourth-year tight end has already matched a career high with the pair of scores, and perhaps his connection with Wentz will help lead to the athletic Alie-Cox surpassing the career-best 31-394 line he produced while working with Philip Rivers in 2020. Impact Alie-Cox saw significantly less playing time in Week 1 as he played just 27 snaps compared to 49 snaps for Jack Doyle, whereas the two were about equal in snaps last week. He at least had a reception after failing to make a catch in Week 1. While Alie-Cox could emerge with a larger role and find usage as a red zone option (where the Colts have struggled), he's not a significant part of the passing offense at the moment.

Impact Jack Doyle started at tight end and played 45 snaps compared to 39 snaps for Alie-Cox. Doyle went out for a pass on 24 snaps, and Alie-Cox went out for a pass on 20 snaps. It looks like both will split the targets and playing time at tight end. Kyle Granson was a non-factor with just seven snaps on offense and no targets. Alie-Cox could take over the bulk of targets at tight end and emerge as a red-zone option, but the Indy offense looks set to spread the ball among a deep receiving corps even with the change at quarterback to Carson Wentz.

Impact Cox will return to the Colts on a one-year deal in 2021 as a result of this move. He caught 31 passes for 394 yards and two touchdowns as part of a deep tight end room last season but could play a more prominent role alongside Jack Doyle this season with Trey Burton now a free agent.
